Mindfulness Daily Check-in February 22' 2018

We are different from others and if we compare with others, it means somewhere it leading to misrepresentation of true YOU. Here, significance of self-awareness comes into light. Self-awarness means being conscious of who you are, the real you and what defines your character? How you act or react to specific situation? It is necessary for one's well being.

"The only way to do great work is to love what you do.- Steve Jobs

This statement by Jobs is reminder that to know what you love to do, be self-aware of yourself. Unless you know what you love to do? You wouldn't be able to do, enjoy and display an example of great work.

Like at workplace, one might be best with MS Excel, then some would be lovely presenters, some would be the amazing speakers and some would be wonderful trainers. But what if the role of these amazing people shuffled? Would they be able to demonstrate great work as doing earlier? Maybe not, maybe take good of time to reach to that level? Because they may not be enjoying what they will need to do. To a certain affect, art of doing great work comes naturally to them because they enjoy it and always explore better ways to do it. And, by recognising what you like and dislike could allow to reflect your strengths.

And it reminds me that to test your level of self-awareness, express yourself in three words on a notepad, and then ask 5 close people to describe you in three words. Just ensure that others sharing honest feedback with you and not just created one. So, let's say if 3 out of 5 people mentioned, you're "Helpful" then, it means you are really good at helping others. And, it will also make you realize how good self-awareness you have about yourself.
