Mindfulness Daily Check-in - Saturday, June 16

Writing has always the way I've processed my emotions. Or, what's happening in my life. What I'm liking or disliking. What I'm thinking about.
And, I realized there's not much difference betwen mindfulness practice and creating a good write and art.
Sometimes, I feel like people around me are angry. Angry because they aren't able to process their emotions. They just building this unwanted emotions inside and forming like a volcano. I tried to speak with some and suggested them the way of writing. Told them whenever they feeling difficulty processing the emotions. Just take a piece of paper and start writing down all the thoughts in mind. Even if it doesn't make sense what you are writing. It might seem like you writing crap. But, that's okay. Just keep writing unless you feel like you have nothing more to write more.
After that, read what you wrote. You might not find connection between the sentences you formed. You may not find it as a processed writing. But, one or two read will actually make you think the thoughts or emotions that was building up inside. It wasn't that important as you were giving it in mind. Some writing may even make you laugh.
It seemed weird for them. Writing? But, they tried it for a week or so. I don't know if it helped them to process emotions. But, they started enjoying their writing.
However, writing helps to cool down your emotions and process it in a better way. Even if you writing mindlessly, you'll be writing it mindfully. Because you will write only what you feeling in the moment. The thoughts which racing in the present. You practicing mindfulness.
Have you ever tried processing emotions through writing? Let's talk about it today.

i used to write all the time like this because i have a lot of emotions that i keep bottled in all the time. it often helped me to better understand what i was thinking but never knew how to put into words. i feel really stressed out with all the changes im about to go through in the next couple of months but at the same time, i feel so excited and so calm. lately things have been going downhill for me emotionally and ive been feeling very alone. i want to change that and i wish i didnt have to feel this way. i think i want to start writing like this again so i can get everything out onto paper and be able to recognize these thoughts. so glad that this thread was created. i already feel better.
@ASilentObserver yessssss i love to journal when I feel I need to been trying to daily do it but then you burn out as it takes me hours to write all that's happened all that I feel then I spend 30 mins or so reflecting on what I wrote and summarising at the bottom my way of understanding it I write my journals on penzu.com theirs many things you can use this journal for
@ASilentObserver Hi Obs!
How are you doing today? I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far!
I really love this post!!!
Have you ever tried processing emotions through writing? Let's talk about it today.
I have been processing my emotions through writing since I was 13-years-old, so almost 10 years now. It has always helped me feel relieved and/or lighter.
Definitely, I love writing :) I like using something as inspiration for my writing, maybe a particular song I like, nature, an object. It's a nice little exercise to pick something and write a short passage and I feel like it helps.
I stared daily journaling on my round the world trip so I woudln't forget anything that happened to me and so I could write a book about it later! Then I began to rely on it, even after my multi-year travels stopped for periods. I use the journal for different things and this is my most recent use of a tool I've been familiar with since 2001. I started digial journaling in 2008 and actually miss the pen and paper version since I could sketch right inside, but I like the ease of digital format now. It helps be mindful since when I hear something useful or that may be helpful for me to examine, I write the question down in the journal and then answer it later!
I heard just today from Abraham Hicks that the thoughts you have while your mind is calm, while meditating, that come from the inside, your inner self, are the ones to listen to.
Nuggets like this go in my journal to review as well as questions and answers and lists. I also "beat myself up" briefly in the journal, saying all the things I would never say in real life or out loud, and get it out of my system. It feels good to get it out of my system and not have to poison or pollute anyone else in the mean time.
@ASilentObserver thanks for this post. I appreciate it because I have kept journals of feelings, dreams and events. It seems to help to write them out. Maybe it is just feeling heard even if by myself that I feel better
