Controling my anger.

I take long deep breaths, tell myself "you are the only one that hurts because of this, you're better than this", and if people are showing toxic behaviours towards me I just block it and politly say "sorry but not today. Not going to argue".

HAs been working quite well :)

Slow, deep breathes! The slower my breath, the calmer my heartbeat, the calmer my mind. Fast, short breathes equals racing thoughts and that panic feeling, the full body anxiety sets in. So I'm mindful of that. When my breathing gets sharp and short, and the chest tightens, I've learned to recognize this as a need to consciously calm my breathing down, which in turn calms me down, my body and my mind. I've gotten so good at deep breathing, even just practicing while doing the dishes, that I can now stop a panic attack in its tracks and I can even breath myself into a peaceful sleep. I'm grateful to be mindful of my breathing.

For me, it is Wow! Ive suffered with all kinds of anxiety, since small kid time. My social anxiety was so bad, I refused to go to pre-school. I was terrified of talking to my teachers or paying for candy at the register. As I got older, I started having panic attacks, never knowing what they were. I just knew I was scared. I was called shy and picked on for being weak/too sensitive. As I got older, mid twenties, the anxiety got worse and I started having racing thoughts. That was the worst because they made me constantly feel panicky. Short of breath. Unable to take a deep breath. Or Id hold my breath, unable to let it out. Shoulders up to my ears, neck tight with needless worry. So tense, my body started aching. Doctors didnt understand why my body hurt so much. I was put on medication that, in the long run, wasnt good for my body or mind. I saw therapists to address my anxiety issues but no work I ever did with them ever helped to stop my chronic anxiety. And they were all nice people. And then! I started watching Eckhart Tolle videos and got interested in meditation. So, for the past 2 years, I've been seriously practicing my breath, taking conscious control of it, and the benefits have been amazing. Practicing mindfulness, learning from spiritual teachers, taking time to meditate and breath has "cured" my debilitating anxiety like nothing else ever could. I could almost bet Id never have a panic attack again. 💚💚💚
