Rub Your Stomach and Mindfulness

Hello everyone, I wish you all a pleasant week heart

When we learn how to tap into our senses and become mindfully attuned to bodily sensations, our ability to intuitively know how we are feeling is enriched.

Below is a soothing exercises which is used by parents to calm their children but also by adults instinctively, especially after overeating. This exercise can be helpful when feeling anxious as anxiety stress go hand in hand with a tense stomach and disturbed digestion but also for other feelings like anger.

Rub Your Stomach laugh

Place one or both palms on your abdomen and rub it in clockwise circles. This is the same direction that food naturally moves through your intestine, so your circular massage will help to stimulate digestion.

Do this for a few minutes using positive affirmations (examples: I love myself/ everything is ok) and if possible add a visualization to it (your favorite place to be or create a fictional one)

Would be great to hear about your experience with this exercise or what you think about it.

@amiablePeace77 this is a great exercise!

In Qi Gong, the exercise is done from the Dan Tien 3 fingers below the navel up to the solar plexus holding the hands an inch or two above your belly and then making clockwise circle imagining energy coming out the hands to energize and heal the internal organs. After a while then repeat in the counterclockwise motion imaging healing the internal organs. Usually done 5-10 times each way.
