Self-Love Pledge
Self-Love: that illusive force cultivated and found from within; a warm, gentle embrace of the self that says, "You're okay--I'm okay."
Self-Love doesn't require special tools or material wealth to cultivate. Self-Love doesn't require "just-right" circumstances or relationships with others. The only requirement is ourselves and a willingness to recognize that we are human. Sure, we make mistakes, but we are not our mistakes. Sure, we do and say things that we regret, but we can't take them back. The only moment we have control over is right now. So, let's pledge to grow as a person and love ourselves for who we are, right now.
Let's take a few minutes to write our own Self-Love Pledges, customizing them on what we need to tell ourselves today, in this moment, to recognize our full potential as a person, worthy of love, acceptance, and forgiveness.
I Pledge
1. To forgive myself for past mistakes and to know that I have grown from them and that others, too, have had the opportunity for growth because of them.
2. To love my body for how it is at this moment.
3. To not compare myself to others; we are different people with different life circumstances.
4. To focus on the things that I can do rather than focus on the things I have difficulty doing.
5. To be my biggest cheerleader because the only person who is in my life forever is myself.
6. To not worry what others think of me; their projections and opinions are simply that: projections and opinions--they are not my truth.
7. To be compassionate towards myself, remembering that I am not my thoughts or feelings; I simply experience them. I cannot control all of my thoughts, but I can control how I react to them and how much power I give them.
So, what does your Self-Love Pledge look like?

Self-love is actually a topic I kind of struggle with. I do wanna try though, but this is a little overwhelming to me. You have something a little simpler?? Just a step back or something??
@JayTheBird14
Hey, Jay
No problem! We all struggle with self-love at times, as it's a lifelong journey that requires constant cultivation to keep the belief alive as we face pleasant and unpleasant circumstances in life.
What do you think about picking one aspect (1-7) that I mentioned above and make that your pledge for today? It's no problem to start small and build up! That's how we all start and grow as we practice
@EmunahHere
Alrighty, that does sound good actually. Thanks
I pledge to myself to focus on the things that I can do, because even small steps will lead to something much bigger and help you to keep moving forward.
@EmunahHere self love is important and so is having compassion for others. I appreciate the points you are making and value your reminder that I need to define more clearly is what self love is to me.
I guess a few things are taking care of this body, avoiding anger because it hurts me more than anyone, find ways to help others without sacrificing my own self worth and self care. I guess when you start they keep flowing. Thanks again.
@EmunahHere
I pledge
to love myself for who I am with all my strengths and weaknesses
to continue loving myself even if i do wrong and forgive myself for that
to take care of myself, my body and my soul
@EmunahHere
I pledge to love myself for who I am. To not compare myself to others, and to accept the person I am today.
To care for myself, the same way the I care for others. I pledge to look after myself.
#selflove #mindfulness
I Pledge
★ To forgive myself for past mistakes and to know that I have grown from them and that others, too, have had the opportunity for growth because of them.
★ To love my body for how it is at this moment.
★ To not compare myself to others; we are different people with different life circumstances.
★ To focus on the things that I can do rather than focus on the things I have difficulty doing.
★ To be my biggest cheerleader because the only person who is in my life forever is myself.
★ To not worry what others think of me; their projections and opinions are simply that: projections and opinions - they are not my truth.
★ To be compassionate toward myself, remembering that I am not my thoughts or feelings; I simply experience them. I cannot control all of my thoughts, but I can control how I react to them and how much power I give them.
@Emily619
I pledge to do my best to accept who I am and to recognize my strengths and weakness but not to allow them to hold me back from being me.
I pledge to seek help and not be afraid to acknowledge my need for support as a means to maintain my ability to self-love and to realize that all I have is the present because I can't change the past. I accept each day with a positive attitude. My starting point.
Treat myself the same way I would treat a best friend.
or how a best friend might treat me.
This is foreign ground to me. I often would contradict my best friends. I would say to them you don't know me like my parents know me you don't know me like I know myself. Self-love is obviously something I need to learn about.
To accept the thoughts that come into my head and then evaluate them.. rather than hating myself with every fibre of my being on account of some of the stuff that crosses my mind.

Emmunah thank you so much for this wonderful post. Self love is so important to each of us. But it also can be so hard for many of us to do daily. We owe it to ourselves to show love,care,forgivness to ourselves. Little things that make us feel good daily are great ways to start showing ourselves self-love.
