mindfulness daily check in august 4
1. Mindful people do not multitask. They believe to perform one activity at a time from a beginning to end. They truly engage in what they do.
2. They stay away from phones. They stay away when they are engaged in other activities. Because they believe phone can cause distraction and they would not be able to pay attention on what they are doing.
3. They focus on positive aspects. They understand positive thinking not going to solve their problems or challenges. But it encourages them to face it from front. They look for positive sides so that they think clearly and find possible solutions of a problem.
4. They respond rather than react. When they are faced with difficult emotions, thoughts and situation. They do not jump to react instantly. They pause for a while, think about it and then respond to it. It helps them to deal with them in a better way.
5. They do self-care. They understand body and mind has own needs. They cannot continuously strive to achieve goals. They engage in self-care. They take time to relax and rest. Self-care allow them to self-love and become self-aware of them.
Mindful people pay attention on what they do. What they hear and see. They acknowledge the present moment without any judgment. They believe doing so help them to declutter their mindspace. And a clear mind is a better space to think and generate best ideas and thoughts about different things.
So are you a mindful person? What do you practice to be mindful?
Let's talk about it.

While I agree thar staying away from phones is a healthy practice for mindfulness, I found that using mine is a coping tool when dealing with some particularly toxic environments.
@ASilentObserver nice summary of some of the key features of mindfulness!
So are you a mindful person? When I am not mindful and I remember it, I turn my attention back to my breathing or environment. We cannot quickly get mindful, but we can have periods of mindfulness followed by getting distracted. It is like sleep there are different stages: light sleep, deep sleep, dreaming and others. Mindfulness is in stages and that is okay. Mindfulness is a process and a practice, not somewhere we get to and never go back to distraction. Mindfulness is like being in deep water. When we sink below the surface we wake up and return to the surface to take a breath.
What do you practice to be mindful? Gratitude is important in accepting conditions we face. Struggling with conditions is like panicking in quicksand which only makes us sink more deeply. When I eat I am starting to be grateful for all the people who give their lives to provide the food I eat. From growers, wholesalers, processors, truckers, shelf stockers, cashier, gasoline sellers to get home from the store. The list is limitless.
@soulsings
I can tell how much being grateful can change our perspective of a situation. I will definitely look forward to practising it. :D
@Shriya546 glad to see your interest. If possible to attend there is a mindfulness session at 3:30PM EDT on Monday.
just want to check in today
@scarletPear1945 thanks good to see you.
That is so true! However, I find no one around me mindful! That is sad! Well, yeah! I am slowly transforming into a more mindful person. I have made a self-care planner and a 'Mind-expansion' Journal ( to add in all that I learn in a day ). Besides, I am also planning on doing meditation using 7Cups mindfulness exercise or HeadSpace :D
@ASilentObserver Hi Obs!
How are you doing today? I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
So are you a mindful person? What do you practice to be mindful?
I try my best to be a mindful person as much as possible by practicing many of the aspects that you listed as well as any activity that helps me to be mindful, clear, relaxed, and at peace.
