In order to be giving, we need to be nourished. This practice is about learning to check in with yourself and to do so with love.

@pamharley003

Allow me to disagree...many told me take care of yourself before you take care of others and it might not work since you can take care of others without heed for yourself...self centering is a masking of banning...mind yourself and leave others be...

I personally do not feel an incentive to feed my ego or my own bubble universe, my happyness is with others...I did not had to be a mogul to help people, I did not have to be a saint to giva away my toys so my mother will be pissed at me...

Some people do not need this expression "take care of yourself first before you take care of others".

Some of us are differen, and we just care...

You make a fair point. For some people "taking care of themself first" can be tough and in some cases, may not be as fruitful. I'd like to take a leap here and say that it doesn't have to mean "me first, you second."

When I think of the saying "you can't pour from an empty glass" or anything along those lines, I am aware that what I do doesn't have to be bounded with what others deem healthy. If I'm in a position and consider myself to be useful to another, I'll happily help them first. Sometimes you need to care about other people first and that's perfectly fine! Slowly, you'll learn that you're people too who deserve as much care as anyone else.

I'm really glad you shared your views on it, I do agree to it till an extent. Hope you have a good day! 💛
