Cat´s silent week experiment
Recently, I came across a major problem in my life. And that being how much noise I am constantly in, how many things do I want to do and how little time I have. I´m a chronic multitasker and come home-pop on a podcast type of person, so true silence is something i haven´t experienced for a long time. And yes, my attention span is fried too 🍟
A while ago, I decided to uninstall *** due to how badly it affected my mental health. And the break helped me a lot. I felt much happier, healthier and had more time to do things that actually fulfill me.
In this experiment, I will be taking this week and try to avoid audio distractions when it´s up to me, and see how it goes. Will probably try to update the comments with a short recap every day on how things went. Feel free to join me for a day or two, try this on your own or just follow along the madness of my underwhelmed brain being forced to deal with itself. Hopefully, I will walk out from this week mentally and emotionally recharged, at least as much as my busy schedule allows it 😁
Also, I won´t be tagging anyone this time to keep my focus, so if you found this, congratulations, you are part of the secret catpost club now 😁
I mostly unplugged for 14 years... plugged back in about a year ago. Major culture shock! Also have been wondering about unplugging again lol. Maybe a landline and onstar? Lol not sure! ! I really appreciate sites like this though and some of the news letters
Travelling home. The lady next to me is talking on the phone since I boarded. I never wanted headphones so hard. But rules are rules. Just today and tomorrow and I'm free again. But hey. At least I know both of her highschool friends are divorced and one of them lost a lot of weight.
Day 6 and 7:
Yesterday night was a really weird one. Was on my own for the night for the first time ever, and it was an interesting experience. I missed the distract myself with audios while doing stuff a lot, but i managed to keep myself to only watching some stuff for a little.
As for today, the challenge is almost over. I made myself busy during the day by spending time with my grandparents, shopping for food and doing some chores, slowly figuring this entire keep myself alive thing out. As the challenge is coming to close, I can say it was a very interesting experiment. It allowed me to listen to my body and it´s needs, bringing up some supressed physical stuff like exhaustion, but also allowing me to be more present in times of social interaction. Overall, it was a good way to challenge myself and push the limits of how long can I put up with my own mind. Either way, I´m holding on with my last shreds of willpower till midnight and then i´m off to drown in a podcast until my bedtime comes around 😁 Thank you for following along and encouraging me on the journey 🌻
