✨ SMART Goals: From "Wishes" to "Actions" ✨

As we close out the week, participants of the Wellness Accountability Huddle have been busy sharing intentions and connecting with our "why." As we move into the weekend, we are taking a big step forward: transforming broad wellness wishes into actionable plans. We wanted to share this process with the entire community! Whether you are working on personal growth alone or in a group, success starts with how you frame your goals. By embracing the SMART framework, you can turn a general "wish" into a concrete reality:

Wellness AreaInstead of a "Vague" Goal...Try a "SMART" Goal!
Physical"I want to exercise more.""I will go for a 20-minute walk on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays after work."
Mindfulness"I want to be less stressed.""I will practice a 5-minute guided meditation every morning before checking my phone."
Hydration"I need to drink more water.""I will finish three 24oz water bottles every day by 8:00 PM."
Mental Health"I want to journal.""I will write one page in my journal every Sunday evening to reflect on my week."

  • S (Specific): Is it clear exactly what you are doing?

  • M (Measurable): Can you track it with a number or a 'Yes/No'?

  • A (Achievable): Is this something you can actually do this week? (Start small!)

  • R (Relevant): Does this goal actually make you feel better/healthier?

  • T (Time-bound): When/how often will you do it?

💡 Pro-Tip: If your goal feels heavy or scary, shrink the challenge! Instead of "work out for an hour," try "put on my workout shoes and move for 10 minutes." Once you start, the rest is easy! 👟

@Heather225

  • S (Specific): Is it clear exactly what you are doing?

I am working out more to better my ankle surgery where I can walk longer than I am now

  • M (Measurable): Can you track it with a number or a 'Yes/No'?

I can give my 100% in tracking my work-outs

  • A (Achievable): Is this something you can actually do this week? (Start small!)

I have started working in P/T and incorporate those exercises into my daily activities

  • R (Relevant): Does this goal actually make you feel better/healthier?

this goal will strengthen the muscles in my ankle and legs. making me feeling better about my health

  • T (Time-bound): When/how often will you do it?

I will do all my exercises 4 times a day spending 30 minutes to an hour if I can do it, or break down the exercises through-out the day
