Hiking

This might be weird and random but if you guys all decided to learn a niche language that nobody around you would know, that would be pretty awesome 😂 and all you need is some Duolingo haha

Indoor rock climbing or trampolining? You could save up, or everyone could chip in, to spread the costs?

Urban exploring- cost is potentially zero (or perhaps bus fare to an interesting town/village/city....wander away from main high streets and just explore parts of the urban environment you would normally walk by or ignore. (Don't go into unsafe places, but DO venture into unlikely ones).

Couple this with photo competitions with your friends. You all take your phones with you and take pics of unusual things you come across (a flower growing on some waste ground, interesting colours and textures on rust, macro photos of the odd, the overlooked, and the delightful, etc). Then at the end of your exploration, you all compare your best three photos and vote on which is the best. The winner could even maybe get a little prize (something small), and then has the privilege of choosing the location for your next exploration. 

A cheap, group friendly activity with a little mild exercise stealthily tacked on to it.
