14 Day Goal Challenge (Day 5)

My One Goal Remains The Same - One Day at a Time
My 14 Day Challenge is not about daily goals. It is about One Goal. That Goal is to function beyond my Guilts, Fears and Inadaquacies. To stay Productive and build Confidence.

I use to use this term for myself. "Do not wallow in self-pity." "I changed that now, for the better I think, "Do not wallow in immobilization." I say this for myself as a motivational tool and not in judgement of others because I truely know how hard it is to be able to function at times. ❤️

I'm just going to try to stay active and mobile today. To be honest, I've barely kept going for the past few days so I hope to do better today.

@IsayUncle. How has your day been so far? It's raining here. I love the sound of it. So calming. I haven't really done anything yet. I hope to clean the house so I have a good start to the week. I've been doing yoga everyday and getting little things done but the past few days have been a bit of a struggle for me too. The listener I usually talk to (and am pretty attached to, honestly) has been busy with his own life and it makes me kind of sad not to have him there. I've looked for others but it's just so hard to make new connections. I'm super grateful to have you here to talk to.💙

Awww, about your listener. It's still a fairly new relationship though so hopefully you two will find a rythym that works good for both of you, even if it has to be less frequent. Until then, we'll continue to enjoy our talks together and bolster each other up. I didn't do too good today (No momentum into motivation). A few false starts that petered out 15-20 minutes later. But I'm going to try to stay up late and finish a couple of important things. So we can chat later than usual if you want.

I gotta go outside and work on the tractor for a while. That was one of my biggies I've put off all day but then I'll be back in to do my receipts. See ya soon.😜😃.

I hope you're doing ok today. I'm sorry it takes me forever to reply to your morning posts. You are in a later time zone than me (by an hour) and also get up a lot earlier it seems. I need to start going to bed earlier and getting up earlier. Maybe it would help to take my medicine in the evening instead of right before bed. I still feel fuzzy for a while after I get up. And I had been staying up to talk to my listener because he is on late at night but lately he hasn't been so I may as well just go to bed.

Anyway, just wanted to check in again. I almost got my dishes and kitchen clean so I'm super happy about that.

My husband is at the laundromat washing clothes (we don't have a washer hookup here yet) and when he gets back I will have about 8 loads to fold and put away. It takes a few hours usually so I will watch YouTube or tv while I do that.

We're good! It's kind of a disjointed way to communicate but it is kind of useful as time allows and we get to kind of know if there is not a reply... it be there later, so that's cool.

I do remember the laundromat task... ugggh, it's good that you're sharing that load .... or loads...(not funny)ha! Great that you got the dishes and kitchen almost done.... 👍 super-😎

It looks like we'll both be doing late errands.

I haven't made it outside to the tractor yet. Believe it or not... I decided to get a load of laundry started. I have a total of 2 loads to do. Easy Squeezy compared to your task.

It does bring up the question though (if you don't mind), why don't you have a washer and dryer yet? I know they're super expensive NEW... but Used Ones are real blessings if they're affordable.

@IsayUncle.

We bought our house on contract in April of last year and it has no washer or dryer hookups. So we have a washer and dryer but they are just sitting there. I keep telling my husband that I will take over the washing again once he gets it all set up but I guess it must be a pretty hard job because he hasn't done it yet. It's expensive to wash and dry all the clothes at the laundromat too.

That's good you are getting some laundry done. Have you had an ok day?

I'm almost done folding the laundry now and have some of it put away. I'm going to pack some of the clothes so they are ready to go for camping.

Yea, it could be a real pain in the butt depending on where you locate them and where the plumbing is. That sucks, hopefully it'll get worked out somehow. I had a real crap day but my evening is making up for it. I got my tractor outfitted to help the flood victims tomorrow. We got a trailer lined out for transport and it didn't rain today, with only slight chances for tomorrow. (I should've had ths done about 10:00am) but it feels good to have it ready to go.

I start my school bus route on Wednesday. That is so cool you can go camping with the kids. A big benefit of home-schooling. YAY! Camping is a lot of work too but you probably almost have it down to a science. It's great you like it and can escape for a while.

This is a late hour for me so it's weird to keep working but I'm going to try my receipts and continue my laundry.

You had a real productive 2 days. How are you feeling today? 💚

@IsayUncle I hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow so you are able to helpvlike you want to. How do you feel about school starting? Do you just work a couple of hours in the mornings and afternoons then?

Yeah, he is wanted to chenge all the pipes to PEX and install a new maniblock and replace the water heater and then run the pipes up to this little room off the kitchen that has big heavy cabinets built in that we (he) will have to tear out.

The basement gets water so we don't want to install the washer and dryer down there. That's another problem we will have to deal with later. I would love to have it water proofed and eventually finish it so we could maybe add some living space as the kids get older.

Anyway, I'm glad you were able to get out there and get your tractor done. I hope your receipts are going well too!

I have a huge mess I need to clean up now but I packed 4 outfits each in gallon ziplock bags for me and each of the three boys and then put them in our bags all ready to go. My daughters and husband will pack their own. It is a lot of work but I'm happy we are able to go again💙

What are you guys, a family of pixies and leprechauns! 4 outfits in a gallon bag! WOW. That is fantastic.... What a great idea for camping! Or overnight hiking, anything outdoors. Very Smart. Sorry you had a mess afterwards but you are that much closer... in steps.

And it sounds like the laundry room idea can use some breaking down into steps too. A pretty big undertaking but hopefully you all will get to it. It'll be nice when you do, that's for sure!😣 Bummer too about the basement. These things take a lot of time and money so all we can do sometimes is the best we can do and that is all we can do. Persevere.💪

I'll be gone all day today but will touch base with you when I get back ok. I realized my 14 day (facing my fears, bblah blah) was good for it's moment but was turning into failure self-talk. Even though those things are real, they've had their moment and it's time to put myself above the fear for a while. So I'm looking forward to a better day. My next eight days... elevated self-talk.

You have a good day today too, OK? 💚 - keep me posted. btw-When are you going camping?

@IsayUncle I don't understand why the reply button is only on some comments. Oh well.

Maybe I didn't explain very well but I divided our clothes into outfits and put individual outfits for each of us into the gallon ziplock bags - so each of us has 4 bags. Buy yeah, we are pretty small. I'm 5'2. My husband is 6' and there's no way his outfits will fit in those bags lol.

I decided to do that because last time my 7 year old just grabbed random clothes from his bag even though I had them rolled into outfits. It's easy for things to get mixed up in the tent with so many of us. Also if it rains at all hopefully the bags will keep things dry. That's the idea anyway!

I didn't get everything put away last night so I have more work to do today. I don't feel like doing anything but I am excited about camping. We are going on the 14th -17th.

I hope you have a good and productive day today! I look forward to hearing how everything goes for you!

I didn't get home until 3am this morning. The devastation and the piles of household belongings that were just piled up as trash outside of houses and in seveal makeshift dumps was unbelievable. everthing gone. I worked helping moving trash (Demolished interiors) into the driveway and then I started digging a trench from the basement door to the river so the basement wouldn't keep flooding when it rained. (the basement door is very low to the yard). 🙏🙏🙏

Keep your Chin Up and if we can share some smiles today.
