I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.

But importantly, talk about getting it done..... or why it didn't happen yet.

To praise each other for our efforts and wins.

While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.

And to continue trying and not give up.

Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!

Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do Your Best and Get Your rest.
Things are usually much harder then we think. Do your best. Be kind to yourself and Be kind to others.

@IsayUncle

I’d like to journal at least once every day 📖

@peachThinker662

Hi peachThinker. and welcome.

That would be a wonderful habit to get into.

Something that helped me get started, was not to think everything I wanted to journal about, because I'd be able to write a book and I would not have time and then get discouraged.

I started off journaling, just writing the date, the day of the week, and the time. THATS ALL... Just making sure I wrote those down in my journal made it a wonderful feeling to journal every day.

It seemed like after I wrote that information down, I always had a minute to write something else and then sometimes I had time to write for a long time. But I always wrote that information down in my journal, every day.

I hope that helps you to journal. That is a wonderful goal. And you will do it! 😊

Oh man, Sorry. Keep it simple this week and let the body  catch up. The heat has been brutal. We've been reminding each other, not to overdo it. NOT empty recommendations.😳. (shakeing finger at you)

Feel Better soon 🤗

@IsayUncle Lol! Yeah you're right, we have been reminding each other to not over do it. I get to a point where I'm almost finished with something so I push through but then it turns out I've pushed too far. The heat and humidity have been horrible this summer. You'd think it wouldn't be so bad where I live but it's bad this year. Thank you! Stay hydrated!

@mytwistedsoul

I think i could use some of your persaverance. that's a good trait, trying to finish something up.

But it has been a supper hot season so far, so definetly try to not do that again.

My dog is sick and i bought some electrolyte for him..... and then I thought, hmmmmm, why not get some for myself too. (I don't buy expensive, sweet soft drinks, like gatorade).
Lots of water and electrolytes is better i think.

Note: Dog got diagnosed with Blasto today. A bad lung and organ fungus. Medication for 6 months. Not an expensive medicine, but also, not a guarantee of recovery. 😔

@IsayUncle I started getting this stuff called Pure Kick at Dollar General. You add it to bottle of water. It has electrolytes in it. It's cheaper than Gatorade but idk if it works cause I never seem to have anything with to drink when I need it 😅

I saw your other post....I'm so sorry about your dog 😞

Hello 7Cups friends.  Its been a bit since I've logged in to my 7Cups browser.....I'm working through some medical things with rheumatology in the form of chronic pain in my lower extremities, large muscle groups and joints.  Getting answers is slow....the rheumatologist came right out and said he would like some scans but insurance won't pay for an MRI until he tries A, B, and C....How stupid is that....our system is broken....Physical Therapy is the C part and they can't get me in until the first week of August....I'm staying positive with the "it is what it is" attitude....and I keep telling myself.........

tumblr-l-417982440084142_1752484326.jpg

anyway.....goals.....

I'm off work for two weeks vacation starting today....traveling starting Wed for my annual trip to see my kids and grandchildren down south, and then stopping at a beach we have never been to for a few days on the way home.....the goals this week are to make sure things are ready for the trip....house things done, car up to snuff....you know...the usual pre-trip checklists.....

Anyway....I hope you all have been doing well and you are maintaining, reaching your goals and making progress to level up in life....

@CyclingThroughLife Hey it's good to see you! Our health system is ridiculously broken. So much money spent and wasted on things they know don't really work 98% of the time.

I hope you have a nice vacation and an awesome visit with your kids and grandkids! Safe travels!

@CyclingThroughLife

Hi Cycling, Sorry about the physical pain. But it's nice to hear from you. The medical system is just another extension the big corrupt pharma institution. Even if all the doctors and medical personal wanted to do the right thing with thier medical intentions (I believe most, genuinely wanted to help people) but the big machine beats them down at every turn, they are forced to become puppets. It is so very sad.

Do your due diligengce when you get back from your vacation and protect yourself, or your medical privilages and rights.

In the meantime, pack 'em up... move 'em out... ENJOY YOUR VACATION.

Not much has changed for me.... or perhaps, actually, a lot has. But my struggle to stay motivated hasn't. Still a hard struggle for me. But now with more on my plate. 😁

Working on my 7th assignment (doing spell checks now) and I need to do a simple work assignment. Aside from that, trying to keep things together, not get overwhelmed, and eat properly (for me). Get enough rest too.

I also need to pay off my obligations and get money ahead but that could take a bit of time.

Would also be nice if I didn't feel like the sword of Damocles was over my head all the time...

@Enthenia Way to go on your assignments! Getting enough rest seems to be a theme for a lot of us I think. I know I don't get as much as I should. I hope you're being as careful as you can in this heat! This summer is brutal!

@mytwistedsoul I'm staying out of the heat the best I can. Could do without the strong wind though. I have an umbrella (mainly for the sun) and it is wind-proof but it's hard to keep it steady when the 50mph winds come up with no warning.

The dog has been okay playing inside. I'm just trying to do so many things at the same time. Trying to keep up on the games and the goals. Got almost $70 on one and about $22 on another. And almost $200 on one that is a genuine game. Then I found another when I searched the bonus offers on one of the apps that can pay actual cash but the odds are really high. Still, I get the bonus on the main app so it's not like it's a total loss.

I'm not going to become wealthy but at least I can get a few extra dollars without borrowing. That's part of the reason why the past two months got screwed up. That and the double withdrawal that I wasn't expecting.

User Profile: mytwistedsoul
mytwistedsoul July 17th, 2025

@Enthenia Wow! I'm glad I don't have those winds! I think that would make the heat even worse.

Aww she's a clever girl and knows it's better to play inside where it's cooler. Hey that's really good with the games though! I have an app on my phone that's lets me earn money. Well I guess they're gift cards but they have them for visa or Walmart and Amazon. Like you said it won't make you wealthy but hey every little bit helps and if you don't have to borrow that'll make it easier in the long run too. I hope it gets easier for you. I hate worrying about money and bills. This adulting thing is really overrated!

@mytwistedsoul well she's been going out to sunbathe when I get home. I open the patio door for her because she usually has to go after being cooped up for over eight hours and she's been stretched out on the concrete enjoying the sun. She needs a bit of sun. She just can't be out there playing.

I was able to transfer $50 from one account to my bank. Hasn't shown up but it will help and I still have about $19 in that account. I've been so overwhelmed lately that I missed the deadline on the game that would have gotten me a good bit of money. I'm keeping the game because I like it. The bad thing is, many of these apps recycle the games so if I sign up for a different one, I still wouldn't get the bonuses and I don't think I'd be able to restart since the data is stored in a cloud. I wouldn't want to start from scratch on some of these games anyway.

But, they help with the anxiety even though all the ads do get annoying. Maybe it's because I'm not exposed to a lot of ads but to me, the mobile ones seem really bad. Like poorly made.

I looked at the instructions for the 8th assignment. This one is involved. I have to create scripts to do certain things and document everything. I've never done a script in Linux before. I wonder what the next two assignments will be like. The course ends in a few weeks.

So I have five names left to do on my final report for work. It's tedious. Have to capture patron information but I have to switch my screen from dark mode to normal because I'm the only one who has their monitor set that way (have to for my eyes), then I have to copy the transaction information into a spreadsheet, sort the information by date, and then review everything. Then I have to write paragraphs as to why that activity is not unusual, save that information in a document and copy that information onto the spreadsheet that has the report.

I also need to start the labs for my 8th assignment. It's scripting and I've never done scripting in Linux.

But, I remembered something that hopefully will help make the finances easier. I have an insurance policy and I checked it. I'm eligible to take a loan out against it. I'd rather do that than take out other loans. I haven't viewed the policy in years and it's not as much as I thought it might be, but it will be enough to get me ahead along with the other money I've been earning. I was hoping that I might be able to do a couple thou so I could pay off some accounts but I wasn't so lucky.

I do have my hospital bill down to about $60 and $50 on the credit account from the bank. And, I'll be able to get groceries tomorrow at the store I don't get too that often.

At least I can breathe somewhat easier for now...

@Enthenia I hope you don't mind, I combined your posts in one reply

Aww yeah my girls liked to do that too if they were inside for awhile. They're a lot like people and need to get that fresh air and sunlight. To play in it though you have to be so careful in this heat. This whole week has just been horrible for heat and humidity!

Hey congratulations on the money though! I'm sorry you missed the deadline for the other one. They do help a lot with anxiety? That's half the reason I started playing some of them here and there. Omgosh yes the ads are really pretty bad! Whoa! Scripts? I wouldn't even know where to start!

You know, I have to say I'm really proud of how you handle things. You get your work done and you do your courses. If a problem comes along you look for solutions. It's really admirable! And way to go with the hospital bill and the credit account with the bank! I bet it'll be nice when you don't have to worry about those anymore.

Maybe get yourself a treat of some sort at the grocery store tomorrow? Doesn't have to be anything huge.
Tomorrows Friday! It's not your birthday by chance is it?

@mytwistedsoul It's okay. I was at odds whether or not to add a reply to a previous stack or start a new one. I know it's not a problem with the stacks any more but the response had other things aside from a direct response.

I don't know about it being admirable. Like today, I spent some time playing games and it kept getting later than what I had wanted it to be to get the bus to the store. Then I decided to take the dog out and get her exercise done before I left. We were only out for about half an hour but the humidity is worse than at five this morning. I'm not going to chance going to the store for five or six items. The humidity with the heat and wind...I don't know, it feels like I am slacking.

Maybe if I get laundry done later today I can go early tomorrow morning. I just don't like dealing with Saturday bus schedules if I don't have to. But, if I get there as close to seven (which is when they open), it shouldn't be too bad.

No, my day of getting older was last week. I worked like usual. If I can get over to the store tomorrow, I'll get some of the ice pops that I can eat. Wish the store across the street hadn't discontinued them. They're one of the few brands I can do because the carbs and sugar isn't ridiculous.

I should actually eat something now. If I don't, I'll get tired but if I do, I get tired sometimes too. It's a no win situation at times.

And earlier I was roasting. Just figured it was my body working against me. Then I saw that the thermostat was stuck at 85. So I started to call maintenance but then went outside to hit the breaker. The dog trotted out after me and she came back when she strayed too far from me. We went back inside and I knew it was working because I heard it switch on.

Since it was relatively cool and overcast with a cool wind blowing, I took the dog out to play with her ball thinking I'd give the apartment time to get to the normal setting. We didn't stay out long because the clouds had moved on and when I went back inside, I noticed that the apartment was still as warm as before. So I tried switching on and off the thermostat again. Then I noticed that the temperature itself had changed. The thermostat had raised the setting to 85. I don't have one of those "smart" ones (one reason why I don't) so I don't know how it got changed. I know I didn't do it and the animals can't reach it. I changed it back to 76 which is what it was set at and it is slowly getting cooler in here.

@Enthenia I'm glad you you and your pup got a chance to play outside , even if it was just for a little. It was kind of like that here this morning. Breezy and kind of over cast but then the sun came out and it got hot again. But it was nice for a little bit

I'm glad you figured out what was wrong with the AC and didn't have to call maintenance. Does the dog sometimes fling her toys in the air? Maybe it caught the tip of the switch just enough to bump it forward? I'm glad it's getting cooler for you! You and the dog and cat definitely need a break from the heat. 85 inside would be too warm!

@mytwistedsoul no but I do throw her ring against the wall. I suppose it could have hit the opposite wall where the thermostat was but it would have gone up only about a degree, not nine degrees. We have been having problems with the electricity so maybe that had something to do with it.

Didn't go to the store to get the pup her bones. I went across the street. The cat needed food. She doesn't like the food the healthy store carries. I've tried it before. Took some trash out and I need to get some more insect spray and powder to put near the outside of the apartment. Don't know why I have a problem now. I don't clean the floors every day but I don't leave food out aside from the cat and dog food and I spray the countertops down every night.

Right now, I have to play with someone. She's sitting staring at me...

Hey that's ok too, at least this way you didn't have to travel to far to get cat food. I know the one here is pretty sneaky when it comes to food too

Are you having trouble with ants by any chance? They've been horrible here this year. I blame all the rain we've been having. Have had to treat a lot of areas this summer because they've been such a nuisance

I hope you had a nice playtime

@Enthenia I have to admit that happens with me too when it comes to games sometimes. I think once in a while is ok. I know you work hard and you usually very productive. So I think maybe it's ok to slack a little now and then. I usually hit the store as early as possible too. Less people to deal with and it's so much quicker too. I should do a load of wash too now that you mention it.

Aww you know I thought about asking last week! I wish I would have! Happy belated birthday! 🎂🎉

Ice pops are wonderful! Especially with this heat and humidity!

@mytwistedsoul It's okay. I've gotten used to it not being a big thing. It has been that way for years.

No, thankfully, it's not ants. Roaches for some reason. I don't know why. I keep pretty clean. Aside from the pet food, I don't leave food out.  I've been even cleaning the walls (what I can reach) but I don't do the floors every night. Just don't have enough time.

On the games, I've met a goal on a new one and I've got six more levels to make the goal on another. Then there are the bonus goals on another app I downloaded. They are doing where you collect key pieces to get a bonus. Which I did, but the bonus was less than $2. Not sure if it's worth meeting those goals. I'm only doing the games I find interesting but now I've got more games than I have time.

User Profile: mytwistedsoul
mytwistedsoul July 22nd, 2025

@Enthenia Oh no! It probably isn't anything you're doing either with the roaches. I think they just sort of go where ever they want. It could be from a neighbor or even if it's damp somewhere. I think I read somewhere that some areas are more prone to problems with them.

Hey that good you made a goal though! I guess if it doesn't take too long it it's not too hard to make those goals it's still a little cash. But yeah I run in to that too - too many games and not enough time!

@mytwistedsoul I don't think dampness is the problem. I live in an arid climate. The weird thing is, they seem to be located in the kitchen area. They haven't gotten into the smoke alarm (which I'm grateful for. Dog does not like that noise). I got some sonic plug-ins and other things to help discourage them but it doesn't seem to be enough. Hopefully that powder I'm getting will help. It's good for many insects. Usually used in gardens. The something earth. Can't spell it right now and I have to get ready to leave from work...

User Profile: mytwistedsoul
mytwistedsoul July 23rd, 2025

@Enthenia Maybe they're traveling down (if you have an upstairs neighbor?) Or along the the water pipes. It doesn't really matter how they got there, but hopefully the powder you got helps gets rid of them. I feel for doggo, I don't like the shrillness of smoke alarms either

Oh diatomaceous earth? I use that when I find nests of ground bees! It can take a little while for results but it does work!

@mytwistedsoul yes. I have to check my mailbox. I discovered they've been haging around my fairly new lamp. Couldn't turn it off with the remote so I went to the floor switch becaue I thought the dog had done something to it (she drops her ball near the lamp sometimes) and they were hanging out under the switch. Will definitely have to sprinkle it around electrical cords. Since the other methods I tried weren't working, I decided that I should get that. It's too bad I don't have my own space because I read there are some plants that can help ward them off too. I don't want to do any planting because the space really isn't my own and the powder is cheaper than the plants.

We have some relatively new neighbors upstairs across from us. Don't know if they were the ones who brought them in. Ecolab used to spray around the buildings but I think the complex lost the contract with them. I think it helped keep the pests at bay...

@Enthenia Hopefully the DE does the trick and helps you get rid of the problem. I've heard they don't like peppermint and citrus smells. IDK if that's true or not. I've tried using stuff like that to keep the chipmunks out of the garden but it doesn't help. It's too bad the complex lost the contract. I know those pest control places can really help prevent problems

@mytwistedsoul peppermint, citrus, lavendar, rosemary and I think sage they don't like. I got some orange spray and some lavendar closet sachets that I put around the apartment but it didn't seem like that helped. I didn't see as many this morning (I wasn't particularly looking for them) so I think it's helping. At least more than the other methods I tried. Still using the sonic plugins because they could be keeping other pests out.

@mytwistedsoul well it's making them more active. Saw a few this morning. I am behind this weekend. Woke up at two to go to the bathroom and see if the cat wanted to come in then went back to sleep. Woke up after five and the dog was overexcited (had her toy already) because we should have been out playing by that time. Got behind in doing other things because of that. Checked the bank. The rest of the deposit cleared.

Went to the store and spend more than I had planned. Still have enough to make the payment. Inquired about when the customer service window would open and was told nine. It was seven something when I was at the store. Got back late. Got the dog and the laundry so she could go out to play while the laundry ran because it was still cool for her. She wanted to take her time though so I got the laundry late. Still have to put groceries away and do the clothes. And eat. The pup's asleep though...

@Enthenia Oh I wonder if it's supposed to do that? Make them more active? I guess maybe as it works into their exoskeletons?

Pets do get used to our normal routines. I'm guessing you're probably up earlier usually?

I'm glad the rest of the deposit cleared and you were able to get groceries. Boy it doesn't take much to go over budget.

@mytwistedsoul well she has calmed down a bit since her puppy days. She would be all over the place nearly driving me crazy and then it would get so quiet and she'd be fast asleep.

I thought the powder was working. Just a little annoying to see them rushing about because it appeared like nothing was happening. The animals won't even chase them. The pup will go after flies that come in when the patio door is open. Guess they're more of a challenge.

I don't think the cat goes after anything any more. Think she's too old. Well  she does go after the dog and she can get vicious with the dog because I've heard the dog barking at her using her annoyed tone.

@Enthenia From what I understand it just takes some time for it to work. After they start to decrease in numbers they suggest you keep applying it for awhile because of hatching eggs. It might be a good way to help prevent them too

Lol! My dogs used to chase flies too. I used to call them sky raisins. Cockroaches might just be nasty to them? They probably have some bacteria too. So it probably good your pup and kitty don't go after them

@mytwistedsoul well the furries have brought in dead birds from time to time so I don't know if bacteria really is an argument. The cat doesn't bring me gifts any more but I have to watch out for the dog since she carried a pigeon in without me knowing a few months back which had made her sick. Think you mentioned the connection.

My old dog found a lizard in the apartment once and wanted to play with it. Scared the tail off the poor thing.

@mytwistedsoul  she does like to carry things. I get her a lamb bone at the pet store. Just the leg and the foot, no meat and she carries it around the apartment. The only problem is she likes to hide her bones and chews in that cat's box. One reason why I wanted to get a small broom and dustpan. The excess litter goes out onto the floor. The dog has larger paws than the cat so I expect it. I don't think the cat likes having things in her box but she won't use the top-entry one I bought. I think it's too new of a concept for her.

Keeping it for when I get another cat eventually.

Oh, on that credit builder account. They're having a contest for $4k which was one reason why I entered. The deadline for entry is tomorrow. I'm just as likely to win that as I am the $10k contest the data sharing site I use is running. But, there's no cost to the entries and it would be nice to get an email although I'm definitely not counting on it. Would help me get a handle on things though.

Double-checking my assignment then submitting it. A day earlier than expected. Now have to do two more in two weeks.

Need to check my bank account to see if the deposit hold is gone. Apartment called me yesterday. Got my bus pass though. Oh, I found out that the application that allows me to split my rent now has an option where you can pay into their system and they will hold it until rent is due. This is what I've wanted to do for a long time now. I do that with my electric (pay ahead and then what I owe is taken out of it). Easier for me to do smaller payments and then build up a credit. Going to try that for August.

Um, I think that's it...
