I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.

But importantly, talk about getting it done..... or why it didn't happen yet.

To praise each other for our efforts and wins.

While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.

And to continue trying and not give up.

Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!

Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do Your Best and Get Your rest.
Things are usually much harder then we think. Do your best. Be kind to yourself and Be kind to others.

Thanks for having this thread. 😊 weekly goals really help. I usually get them done if I post about them.

My goal is to write in my journal everyday.

Thanks!

Today I still have about 45 names left to run background checks on. Spent 10 minutes trying to track down a file that someone did back in May but didn't save where it should have been saved. I get yelled at if I run things twice even though everyone else seems to be able to.

And, I was conveniently left off the email from the Licensing department again.

I have a minute left and I am so ready to be gone...

@Enthenia I don't blame you, I would want to be out of there as soon as I can too. I read in an earlier post that you had a misstep and took a spill. I hope you're doing alright. TGIF tomorrow!

@mytwistedsoul my arms are sore. It's awkward because I'm a south paw and the dog has her frisbee that has to be thrown.

I just find it interesting that I got in trouble for leaving people off of emails and yet I'm being left off of emails. I was essentially told that I was bullying the person. I had come from an office environment. An actual office. Where people actually talked but maybe it was because I was in Purchasing and not where I'm stuck now. I thought the person in question was on vacation. I was trying to be nice by not spamming him with emails. Again, it's really amazing that a lot of things I got in trouble for that one time, others seem to get away with with little to no repercussions.

As for my names list, it must have been over fifty to start with. I did say that I didn't really count. Oh and now we have to change how we name files because the new drive can't handle long file names and apparently if there's too many characters, the file may not open correctly. When you set up space for a department, wouldn't it make sense to have enough space or at least let the department know about character restrictions?

I'd like to win a contest that offers a substantial amount of money. Then I could leave without feeling guilty and search for a place that has a better working environment.

@Enthenia Oh man... and she doesn't understand that you're hurt right now. I hope they start to feel better soon. ❤️

Their practices there really don't make any sense and are just really unfair. How they seem to single out certain people (you) I feel for you.

So they changed things again because their antiquated system and programs can't handle too many characters.. and then they can't even put a memo or a line in stating that the names should be limited to x amount on letters/ numbers. They really should work on their communication skills

I think it was considerate of you to not want to blast emails to someone you thought was on vacation.

Omgosh I'd like that for you too! I would love for you to be able to tell them where to stick their job!

@mytwistedsoul well the left one doesn't hurt as much this morning. It was worse at the joint. I think I might have arthritis in that arm so the fall made things more difficult.

I got the water I mentioned earlier. Tried one last night. Figured I'd better know whether it tasted all right or not. It's not bad. It does have 5g of sugar but it's cane sugar so it's not as bad as refined. It's got vitamin A, E, B6, and B12 and a couple of others.

I'm actually at my desk way earlier than usual. Going to try and get through this list of names. A girl from the coporate office brought in donuts and offered me one. Told her I couldn't. I had one of the little waffles that I bring with me and I think it was a bit too much. There are other things I can bring but they cost more and the portions are smaller. The waffles I can get four for $4.70 while the little quiches or the egg sandwiches (which use eggs in place of bread) are two to a package and cost at least $6. Really no other options. All the other choices in the frozen section either have too much sugar, artificial flavors, way too many carbohydrates...

But, I should get to my list of names. That's why I'm at my desk now...

@Enthenia I'm glad the one isn't hurting as much. Arthritis is such a pain to deal with (pun intended lol) I started taking glucosamine/chondroitin about a year ago. It's actually been helping.

You try to avoid sugars I'm guessing? I saw you had mentioned about diabetes in a post. (sorry I try to keep track of things but sometimes I get quiet) Would those little egg sandwiches be something you could make at home? It might be a pain in the backside but it might save you money and you could make bunch of them and freeze them to eat whenever. I understand too, if time is an issue and sometimes it's more trouble than it's worth.
Good luck getting those names done! It will be nice to not have to worry about them!

@mytwistedsoul I've done supplements for joint support. Out of them now. I've been using the roll on relief sticks and they seem to help. I have one that I keep in my bag for my feet. I usually have to readjust my socks in the morning because the grass is wet when I take the dog out. Sometimes I do it at the bus stop but lately there's been other people waiting at the stop so I wait until I get into the lobby of the office building.

It's okay about not keeping track. I don't keep track of anyone else. I just have so much going on with me that I can't. About the diabetes. My mom has it but I don't know what I have. My insurance says I have it but no physician has actually told me that I have anything. I just try to do the best I can. I found some supplements that help with that as well but I'm running out of them. I tried the probiotic drink with lunch although I didn't really have lunch. I had thought about breaking away and picking up something at the coffee shop close to the pet supply store but I never did. There's some other places close by too but one's a sandwich shop and another's an Asian place. I've eaten at the Asian place a couple of times but each time I do, I end up being super tired an hour later. I've tried getting different dishes and it's always the same results. I think it's too much on the noodles and rice. The sandwich place has salads but it's the deli style. Macaroni and the like.

I've got about four minutes left and I still have twenty names to do. And I have to save the reports that were pending and move all of them to three different places. Entertaining the idea of coming in on Sunday although that's not fair to the dog and I could get in trouble for working for free but if I don't make substantial progress with my work, I'll be in trouble for that. And I need to do something on the coursework.

Oh. Our office girl apparently left so the lady from the adjacent office has to do both. I don't know precisely why she left but I completely understand. I'd go if I could.

@Enthenia Oh wow! Yeah I would think that it would be something a doctor would tell you for sure. It's weird that your insurance is saying you do when a doctor has never told you for certain. If you're getting tired after eating Asian food it probably is the noodles and rice. I love Asian food tbh. But the carbs in the noodles and rice are really high. Maybe they offer brown rice instead? It supposed to have a lower glycemic index. Or maybe go with stir fry with chicken and vegetables but leave out the rice? You could ask them?

I would imagine the deli would make you tired too? Because of the bread and noodles with the macaroni? I know a guy that is diabetic and he can't have any bread it causes such a spike in his blood sugar levels. He doesn't take very good care of himself with the diabetes and has had some serious health issues because of it.

Oh the office girl quit? Can't say I blame her either. I really wish you could too. Don't give them any work for free. You could maybe ask if you could come in for a few hours to catch up but they should pay you for it. You can only do so much. It really sounds like they're pushing everyone as hard as they can to the get all the work they can out of them but with everything they have you doing for each name... it's just not humanly possible

@mytwistedsoul I think I did do brown rice the last time. Actually prefer it over white but I like jasmine. Not that I can eat any of that anymore. I got a bowl of rice when the dog got sick from bringing the dead bird in that one time (getting one of those single serve bowls made more sense to do that than a bag since I don't use rice) and had the leftover with some vegetables but even that was too much.

Today at work I got all my people done and folders! Well I still have two reports left to do. I also found an alternative way to get back to the main folder since it takes five minutes to do anything. Can't do it with the folder that has all the customer information because there's over 10k entries but if I right click the File Explorer and copy the link as text then paste it onto Notepad, I can copy the beginning part of the link, put that in the Search bar and a brand new folder opens up just like that! There is definitely some sort of communication problem with the drive or it could be too far from us (the further away you are, the longer it takes data to process) but that doesn't really make sense since I can use the search bar and bring up what I need within a few seconds. If I ever get free time, I may make a Notepad file of the text links and save it on my desktop so I don't have to bother with going back and forth. But like I said, it won't really help with the Customers folder.

Um, I got up to part two of my fourth lab! Really need to start the paper for the third assignment and I shifted all my due dates since those got all screwed up. Only have until the 1st to get all the assignments and labs done. At least I'm pretty much caught up with work so I don't have to worry about that.

Feeling a little tired now so I guess I'll go sit and do some of the games that I haven't gotten around to doing yet...

@Enthenia I don't think I've ever had jasmine rice. I might have to try that. Tbh I'm not a big rice eater but I do like rice pudding lol. Usually I get dishes with noodles. Lo mein especially. Now I'm hungry for Chinese food!

You got all the names done! That's great! That's a good idea too with with having links in notepad that you can just copy and paste. I think that would save some time!

Alright! Part two on the fourth lab! How many parts are there to it? I'm glad you were able to shift the due dates and hope that you're able to get everything done and submitted by the first! Are you getting your engagement requirements in too?
It's always a relief getting caught up with work! Woo hoo!

@mytwistedsoul Basmati rice is okay too. But yeah, I can't do any of that nowadays. I do pizza rarely (only if I'm extremely tired and haven't taken down anything from the freezer or if it won't cook in the air fryer half frozen in a reasonable amount of time). That's why I don't do the sign ups when I do an order because it really isn't worth it.

Um, I'm working on the work thing that's due in two days. Good thing I looked at my notepad again because I had opened the wrong folder. The one I had opened is not due until next month. I tried to go back from the File Explorer to get to the main foler but it took too long thinking. I just went to my saved link and used that.

As for schoolwork, I haven't gotten an email about the lack of participation but I might if I don't submit something today. I have to sort the data I pulled for the thing that's due in two days and format it into a table and then I have to check if the person has activity at another location which is on a different site (& I need the VPN). If there's nothing there then I can work on my schoolwork. At least I don't anticipate that this will take me all day long and I have about four days to get the other report done. All the supervisors had a meeting again. They do it every week. We lowly hourly people never get meetings nor do we ever get informed about what's going on. Not that I really care anymore. I've been done with this place for a long time.

But I must get back to my mundane task...

@Enthenia Basmati I haven't heard of. Pizza is great but I usually end up eating it for days if I order a large. And then I get tired of it

That was a really good idea with the notepad short cut! Were you able to get it done ?

It sounds like a very tedious and monotonous job 😬 you have to pay a lot of attention to details. One wrong thing would throw everything off I imagine

It's funny they have meetings, probably about the work the lowly hourly people but don't bother to fill those people in. Then they make random changes and expect you all to get the information through brainwaves... it's ridiculous

@mytwistedsoul yes. Which is why retention is so bad. And the ones that stay are the wrong ones.

Basmati is used in Indian cooking I believe. Where I used to work they would serve it sometimes when they had themed meals. It wasn't too bad.

I did my 8 hours. Got hit with some disappointing information at work. I held those tears in for 5 hours. Hit the car and let it ALL out. I had therapy at 4 so that was helpful. It’s ok for me to have emotions but damn they hit hard sometimes and get me all discombobulated.

Brought in the good.I had comfort food of chicken nuggets for dinner. Got laundry done for tomorrow. Snuggly clothes. And movie time.

@peachThinker662 Yay for getting your 8 hours in! But I'm sorry about the disappointing news.  Emotions... are so hard to deal with. Sometimes I think we should have the option to uninstall them. I can't seem to find a happy medium for mine

Mmmm you can't go wrong with chicken nuggets! Comfy clothes and a movie sounds like an awesome idea!

I got a few things accomplished today. Took the dog out. Got out a little late. Probably because my feet got soaked in the rain yesterday. At least I remembered my umbrella but the city's streets flood every time there's a substantial rain. I was able to step over some shallow bits but I wasn't able to avoid them all.

We played for a bit but the humidity was a little too high for the pup because she was a little listless. Had a close call this morning. There's a lady who has two dogs (one is not friendly) and she usually comes out at around six. When they show up, we take our things and go home. This morning, a neighbor apparently took the dogs out. I didn't know this but I knew his dog and mine gets along with her but then when the little dog that usually comes out with the lady and the unfriendly dog came into the dog area, I got apprehensive. I said I was unsure about the bigger dog and only a couple of seconds passed and that dog went for mine. The guy fortunately got ahold of the other dog and I got the leash on mine and then we had to hunt for her toy because even though she was upset, I knew we couldn't leave without it. The dog is fine now. We've been out at least five times today and the humidity has disippated.

Still not sure if I want to go in tomorrow. Felt a little poorly this morning but again, that could have been because I had gotten my feet we yesterday afternoon. But, I have those names to get out of the way and I really need to get caught up on the coursework. I don't want to be at my place of employ any longer than I have to. In the four years (I think it's been four. Feels like twenty) I've been there, there has been at least eight front office people. The turnover rate might be bigger in other departments but I wouldn't know for certain.

Um, did some cleaning. Got rid of a few glass jars that had been sitting in my refrigerator and I actually looked at the back part of my gas bill and saw that I have a $270 credit. I guess I don't need to make payments for a while.

Right now, I have to find the dog's toy because she's waiting for me to throw it.

That was quite the adventure with your dog. I'm glad everything worked out. You spent a lot more quality time too with the pup, so that was super nice.

I hopre you a very good day tomorrow, either at work or personal time..... Do your best to, just for peace of mind. Have a good day!

@IsayUncle well I think the decision was made for me. The cat went out as we came back in from playing. The dog doesn't like being left alone and I don't like having the cat out all day with as old as she is. I have a lot of stuff to do at home. They want to come in on Tuesday to do a semi-annual inspection so I need to clean.

I just feel like I'm slacking with work. I'll have to sit at my desk as soon as I get in tomorrow. Will still have to use my own time. It's not fair but my employers only care about the work getting done.

At least the dog will be able to get all of her playtimes today. There are times when I wish I were more capable.

I didn't get as much as I had wanted done today. My monthly reminder of being a girl hit me this morning so I guess it was good that I didn't go to the office because of the cat. Incidentally, she's back inside. Came in shortly after I let her out again. I got the vacuuming done and I still have to clean the stove. That's one of the things they want to check when they do their visit.

I did fall asleep for a few hours because for five days, my system gets screwed up more than normal. Feeling a little tired now. Have to wait a bit to take the dog out again. There needs to be more shade in the dog park for her. I'll give it another fifteen minutes. Need to clean the shower too.

Still have to get caught up on the games. Can't do that while I'm asleep. Have $45 pending.
