I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.

But importantly, talk about getting it done..... or why it didn't happen yet.

To praise each other for our efforts and wins.

While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.

And to continue trying and not give up.

Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!

Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do Your Best and Get Your rest.
Things are usually much harder then we think. Do your best. Be kind to yourself and Be kind to others.

Well seeing as how it's lunchtime and this is the first chance I've gotten to even look at something other than my list of names...is not getting overwhelmed too much?

I've gotten through my list but I still have thirteen documents to save that were pending. Might be more after I go eat. Then I have to move them to three places, wait a few seconds for each file and confirm that I want to save copies every single time...so let's see I was estimating about sixty people times two reports times three places where they want the documents saved (not counting the main folder) and confirming every single time that I want to copy the folders....

I'm going outside to eat my little lunch...

Then maybe I can clear away enough to get back to the classwork.

Another morning of sitting down at my desk before I actually start in an attempt to get ahead. Now we have to ensure that the files which we have to save with shortened names because the drive that IT gave us can't handle too many characters actually open. If they don't alter the file name but we can't alter the file names too much otherwise no one after the fact will be able to make sense out of it. And what about common names like Smith? Are we supposed to just put a first initial? A. Smith. Like that's going to be really helpful. A could be Ann, Andy, Anthony, Angelica, Aaron, Anita...

And I save professional licenses if I find them (dentist, insurance agent, massage therapist, etc.) and criminal records because all that information is relavent and it's sort of part of our jobs even though I think I'm the only one who does it. I don't abbreviate anything on them because there is no file coding system in place. It's all done on the whim of a handful of supervisors which isn't especially helpful say, three years down the road when an audit is done and no one who made the changes is around any more. This is just as bad as the person who threw all expired documentation into a file entitled "Old Stuff" or the person who used to work here who would run reports with just the first name and last name then save basically blank documents.

I have six states left to triple move documents to and one state left to do a report on. And I have a report due in two days. Perhaps I can do something substantial on my class today...

@Enthenia

That is ridiculous. 20 years ago i had that problem of files names being too long......

i wouldn't change them.... i'd tell them i tried but it's still not working..... i'd do everything to ensure they updated thier hard drive.

UNLESS.... emplyees are making super long file names, beyond reason. But i can't imagine that's the problem.

@IsayUncle they never plan things out. They just do it then sort out the problems later. It happened when they changed domains, it's happened when they change software, and it's probably happened quite a few other times but I can't remember them. I really don't understand the mentality especially when it comes to a technical standpoint. Solving problems that could have been avoided with proper planning and risk assessments just isn't good business, in my opinion.

But I don't run the company. I'm just a lowly employee.

Got the data collected and sorted. Have to look at the person's previous report to make sense of it all. But I have until Friday to do it. Probably should start on it tomorrow that way when supervisors aren't too busy chatting, they won't get on me for not having anything entered in the system.

Got the email about lack of participation. It's now one so I have two hours to get what I need to include in my paper. I need to first see if the fictional company I'm supposed to be a employee of has a name so I guess I'm visiting the university's website...

Maybe tonight I can actually get some sleep.

On my 4th page! Still have a lot to do. Did some farcical names for the owners of my company and a background for it. I like doing those. I don't have the time to be creative like I used to.

So I get to the end of my paper (still have to change the references) and double-check the copied instructions to make sure I got all the required points in and I see that the professor wants again three peer-reviewed references. I don't have any and I leave work in six minutes. I didn't work at all on the thing that's due tomorrow so tomorrow I'll have to do both.

And I thought I was doing well....

Found three articles on the university's library website. They appear to be relevant. Hopefully I can work some bits in without changing what I already have down. At my computer at work early solely for this purpose because I've got to get that report done when I actually start because it's due today.

I  happened to check my vacation balance and put in for a day later this month although I'm sure I'll regret it. I have still over 120 hours to use. Never going to get that down.

Bur right now, I need to look over those articles. It'll be time to clock in before I know it.

Got my assignment submitted!!

And resubmitted. Had to reformat the entire thing. The professor didn't want deviations from the headers on the template. Subheadings were fine but I had to shift the entire content around for it to make sense. I'll probably have to go back and do it to the first assignment as well.

Why give scenarios and topics to discuss and then expect people not to deviate from the layout on the template? The fictional company I'm supposed to be a team member of had nothing to do with the topic of the first heading and the other sub-topics I suppose really had nothing to do with the other headings. Yet I was expected to have it organized and formatted according to APA guidelines.

I have one more chance if this submission isn't right so I guess that's something. I made sure to download the template for the fourth assessment and I just remembered I forgot to upload the lab document with the second submission so regardless of whether it's right or not, I'll have to resubmit...

@Enthenia.

Oh my goodness Enthenia, how do you keep all that stuff in your brain. You are absolutely amazing.

I just finished re-reading a lot of your posts from previously in the week, and I find myself in awe, how you're able to juggle all of these trials and tribulations and keep moving forward.

You should be very proud of yourself.

I hope your class resubmissions go well when you finish this course successfully.

The weekend is already here so I hope you enjoy some time with your pets and have some time for yourself.

@IsayUncle well we just came back from playing with her ball. The clothes sat in the laundry room for an extra half-hour I think. Fortunately, it was one of the rooms that isn't used frequently--at least when I use it.

I don't know about being amazing. When I make little mistakes like forgetting to upload both reports or not following suit on the instructions, I feel incapable.

Of course the work environment doesn't really help.

Glad I feel better now. Took the dog out at five and had to leave the park early because one of the mean dogs shows up early. Then I tried to review the grocery ads before I went. The cat was sitting on the counter staring at me. She wanted food but I used the last can the previous night. Then I got a bout of fatigue. I was trying to do some little things on the phone but kept nodding off. Dog lay on the couch beside me and I put my head on her. Ended up being 40 minutes later than when I had wanted to leave but I knew I had to go to the store for the cat.

Now the pup's taking a nap. She's worn out...

CRAZY TIMES (Post #1... too much for one sitting.)
I'm using the next few days to dump, sort and regroup.

I have had a crazy two weeks that has been building up for about two months I guess.
This is the first time in a long time, that I've had time to sit and sort my brain a little bit.

I've been pushing so hard for the past couple of months. I had several obligations that I was beholding to, and I completed the last one yesterday.

These were big deals. One was an estimated  $8000 promise to finish a basement sump/dry system, for my ex-wife. There's nothing I got paid for. It was a favor so she could buy a nice house after our divorce. I did it in stages in the past two years and a couple weeks ago I finished pouring the cement. That job is 100% done.

Last year I purchased the remains of a kayak business which included about 32 kayaks, a trailer, and a 22 person transit bus. I knew I couldn't afford it at the time and refused to invest in it for several months until the seller said that they had a job for me that could pay for it. There was no nefarious intentions on either part but the job did not pay for it, and that put me in debt for $4500. The seller is wonderful and did not obligate me to a stringent payment plan and so I paid a little bit here and a little bit there. I still had $2500 on the books I was able to pay a good chunk and got that that down to $1000. (Not done yet but very close.)

The job that I finished yesterday has put me in a state of euphoria. I kind of got ripped off but I finished off the job in an honorable way. Last year I traded a septic system installation for a large motored service work truck for $5000. In hindsight, it wasn't a good deal for me. That work truck is already broke down and the septic system that I installed had an actual value of $7500+. So of course, for the past week I've had a case of sour grapes but I choked them down and did a mighty fine job on that septic system. This system got dragged out from last year because the property owner wanted to buy his own materials cheaply, but never got around to it, when I asked for them. Also he kept changing his house plans and in addition to a very wet year last year, it got pushed all the way up to this year. I finished this job yesterday.

I have been running on desperation mixed with hope, throwing in a lot of disorganization, with new situations, giving me a case of crazy times. "Crazy times post #2" is coming up. Stay tuned for new relationships and the story of the settlers.

Right now the kitchen need cleaning, I need cleaning, and a month of paperwork needs doing.

P.S. Getting these jobs done before week #52 of this year is a big big deal for me... I'll be able to start week #1 of next year with a fresh approach. While getting these obligations done, I also managed some jobs in between to pay the bills. (not sure of $$$ situation though... paperwork needs doing)

i'm going to go fix a brakeline on the truck. (I feel like napping though).... but it's nice out so, out i go. 😁

CRAZY TIMES (Post #2... The Settlers.)
I'm using the next few days to dump, sort and regroup.

I have had a crazy two weeks that has been building up for about two months.
This is the first time in a long time, that I've had time to sit and sort my brain a little bit.

I didn't get much done yesterday. I didn't get my brake line fixed. There's lots of little things that I did not do. I rationalized that I could take a day of nothingness for myself. But I can't do that again today. These crazy times that I've just work through, left a lot of little things unfinished.

I need to get these little things finished before I enter another month of crazy times. And I know that's coming so I have to work as hard as I can now to make that as smooth as possible later.

The Settlers

This is a crazy story. I live in a very rural part of the state on a one lane, back Rd. It's mostly forest and mountainside. About 1 year ago, a large real estate company finished logging a couple 100+ acres about 3 miles from my house.

This is kind of a sad story because this big company from Texas is taking advantage of poor unsuspecting people. What they are doing can be borderline illegal or even straight up illegal, I don't know.

After they logged this mountainside, they dissected the land and put lots up for sale. You can buy the property online but when asked to meet somebody to look at the lot, they say they can't send nobody down here. These lots are in the middle of undeveloped forest, so half the time people can't even find correct property lines. (they often buy the lots unseen).... eager and foolish.

The evil part, is the company, is financing and catering to the impoverished, the indigent, the destitute, and the underprivileged segmant of society.

Poor people are coming in from different parts of the states with everything they own, loaded up on top of, and inside their vehicles. They think they got a piece of land, they're all excited They're gonna build a new life for themselves.

They get here, they can't find their lots. But the next evil part of this plan, is, they can't get to their lots because there are no roads except for logging roads going up a mountainside. And now they are stuck betwixt in between because they sold everything they had to get here, they have no resources, food, jobs, or the ability to go back where they came from..

If they are late 10 days for the mortgage payment, the company reclaims the land and then resells it to somebody else.

I have gotten involved with two families in the past month. My involvement has cost me time, resources and money. I'm not foolishly giving away these things for free, but I am doing enough to try to offer hope and give them a chance of a fishing pole instead of giving them fish.

The story of the Settlers will continue, but it's easy to understand how this scenario has added  to my Crazy Times!
