Disciplinary Accountability for Success says it all. I have all that I need to be successful, Except for enough discipline. Without the discipline, much of my time and many of my days are wasted.

I want to be successful in Four Large aspects of my life, for 2026 & onward.
(1) Financial security. (I'm self employed).
(2) Family involvement. (I've been estranged for too many years).
(3) Reduce my weight by 65 lbs. (I'm currenty 6'2" @ 290lbs - age 60+).
(4) Self-Care. (Health, Cleanliness, Order, Faith, Generosity & Socializing).

This thread is an effort to force discipline onto my actions by admitting my accountability. It is a personal journey of hard improvements for the year of 2026.

Feel free to join in with your own story. I wholly believe in supporting each other for strength, understanding and camaraderie.

Week 1 2026 (link) + Reflection: Week 1 was a powerful week of reinitiation for me. Over the years my many efforts and strong routines got dilluted to a point of despair. Week one has renergized me.

In 2025, I used a lot of external noise to try to keep me motivated. That isn't a bad thing and it worked for a very long time. It's still an amazing stepping stone for progress.

But it was constant. News in the Morning, Music, no brainer TV shows for background noise, audio books and news podcasts with headsets while I was working my job..

All different kinds of noise to match my mood or for encouragement.

Last week I adopted a much more meditative state of silence while doing chores and tasks. It was not the whole time and it was nothing extreme but I can honestly say that I felt more at peace and more productive. I'm never gonna give up the media noise but I'm going to balance it with some personal silence while exercising intention instead of dread and escape.

I enjoy quiet myself a lot. I think you need time to process the noise and there is a lot of it.

Start - Day 5:  (AM) Weight  | Mon 1/05/26 289 | Sun 1/04/26 290.6 | Sat 1/03/26 288 | 1/02/26 288.2 | 1/01/26 290lbs

Goal - Follow personal daily routine

Goal - Do not stress eat

Goal - Go to job

Goal - Social interactions with family or neighbor or both

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day 5 - Monday. (Week #1 was eye opening! And very satifactory)

I am astounded about how changing my mindset from all the D's (Dismay, Dread, Discouragement), Has boosted my endurance level.

I've started reminding myself constantly, about the intention, the purpose of what I'm doing at hand in addition, to doing it with, fervor.

I'm very thankful for this new mantra that I'm playing in my head throughout the day. Each task is done with intention, purpose and fervor. This mindset, is not allowing room for all the other junk in my life, to get into my head and discourage me, and wear me down mentally.

Oh no! I hope you are able to get some rest @isayuncle. You can't live on no sleep/rest.

I know how you feel though. I have a tax test I've been working on and it is very difficult with no sleep!

I've been reading the book. The one thing to help me get focused these days. There's a lot of goals-setting noise out there right now.

What is the one thing you can do right now that for by doing it everything else will be easier or unnecessary? (You can choose rest!)

@reservedOwl321

weWell I've given that some very serious thought and I've been thinking about the one thing that I can do right now to make everything easier or unnecessary.

I didn't mean to post that last comment, I hadn't finished. Anyway the one thing I can do right now to achieve that dynamic......

Is to develop magical powers. 🤣😂🤣😂.

magic-internet-money-bitcoin-wizard.gif

I'll have to think on that one. 🤔

About the Tiredness and rest. I allocate Adequate hours of rest time and sleep time. It's not really quality because of Aging obligations Throughout the night, if you know what I mean. And also with outdoor dogs here in the country, lots of barking has to be investigated sometimes.
Anyway its not like I work myself to the bone and don't allow myself any time to sleep but it doesn't seem to matter even if I do get plenty of sleep and take plenty of naps I continue to be perpetually Tired. It is definitely because of overwhelming thoughts, trying to get past survival. Sometimes I wish I can just stop.
Thanks for the input. 😊
