Hi everyone! We all have things we wish to do in life but they are hard things. Its tough to keep going when we are in a bad place, when things fall apart as they often do. However that is when accountability comes in.

How do you hold yourself accountable to do hard things?

@Hope

How do you hold yourself accountable to do hard things?

It varies, related to the importance or siginificance of the hard thing. As far as my accountability goes, if I don't do it, there can be severe consquences or I just feel bad but I'm accountable for these things. BUT I also feel good as well as for the success I feel if I do them.

The drudgery of non-completeion versus the "feel good" of  completion motivates my accountability. And blaming no one else if I don't succeed.

@IsayUncle yep! The sense of pride and success when you accomplish/do a difficult job. Is definitely worth it ❤

At this stage in my life, I'm what I would call an "avoider"  I tend to be very selective of what I chose to do, where I chose to go and who I chose to be around because I don't want to put myself in a situation where I will have to end up doing "the hard things"  I want peace and not drama in my surroundings.  I work in an environment that is filled with drama, which is why when I'm not at the job, I am so selective of what I do and take on.  With that said, when it comes time to do the hard things that NEED to be done, I just do them and deal with the mental and emotional backlash later.  One thing I learned in the military, a catch phrase so to speak, that I still try to use today, is "Embrace the suck"..... there are things in life that are going to suck...you need to just face it head on and get it done.  That is what I do.... While this mindset may not be helpful for everyone, it has served me well.  I just do the things and when its over, and things have calmed down, I find ways to deal with the emotional or mental health aftermath that go along with those hard things.  What do I do to help afterward? I have my routines, but usually a lot of 7cups.....

@Hope gotta fight through the pain. I always remind myself there are people who are in a worse state than I am, so I should be thankful. That's what gets me through ❤
