I sometimes can't tell the difference between manic and excitedly engaged!
I've had a good few days from up out of the ashes and my mind was rocketing towards all the immediate possibilities. I was succeeding and getting more excited. I got stopped by equipment failure at a bad juncture in the project, creating a bigger unfinished mess! Today I have no motivation or excitement. I wonder if i was getting manic because of the immediate deflation the failure caused.
I do recognize When I am heavily depressed or heavily manic but I wonder if my manic drives me sometimes and I mistake it for inner strengh or energy. I think it's manic when I get shut down and I start to slip into immediate depression and immobilization.
That's how I feel today.... Why Try?
But I must, I only wish I had some of that energy I've had for the past few days, whether it was manic or just good energy. But it is gone.
@IsayUncle Manic describes an extreme state of excitement associated with conditions like bipolar disorder, characterized by heightened energy, impulsivity, and erratic behavior. Excitedly, on the other hand, is a general state of heightened anticipation and enthusiasm that arises from positive events or experiences, displaying positive energy and focus without the extreme and potentially problematic nature of mania.

Thank you. Your definition confirms that I function a lot in a manic state of mind. Probably why I work so hard with never completeing anything or ever finding any time to relax and opt to do nothing. I must write everything down to remember what I'm doing if I'm not in a manic state running on automatic with no regard to what should be done but instead just getting something done in a big way..... if that makes any sense.
Thanks for your input.

For clarification? (Assuming a Bipolar disordrer is present)
"Extreme state of excitement" Does Manic behavior have a scale of severity, from minor to major?
"Excited, General state of ......" Does Excitedly have a scale of severity, from minor to major?
My query was more about the lower severity of manic compared to exterme entusiasm of excitement. at that juncture, which is which? You answered it well with the addition of "impusivity and erratic behavior".
I believe both can have a heightened anticipation and enthusiasm from positive events or experiences but I think with a manic episode those feelings fade away quickly, almost instantly.
@IsayUncle The excitement of mania often causes some aspects of unhappiness and pain to people or themselves, and excitement is usually in a reasonable range to bring pleasure to others and themselves will not cause harm, so if you are sick, you should be treated in time to avoid hurting yourself.
Put dishes away. DONE! Log some receipts. NOT DONE!
5:37pm: Log some receipts.
Because my mind is all muddled today, I'm haviving a hard time functioning. I've been actively reducing my weight this week and doing well. With my muddled mind, and constant temptaion to overeat... it is very hard to sit and do receipts.
I have only a few hours to go before reaching my 7 day weight goal and if I can maintain my current weight for a second day, I could achieve a bonus weight loss goal of an additional 3 pounds.
Go to bed.... no receipts? //// Do receipts... chance breaking down about excessive eating this evening?
