Lets talk New Years Resolutions

Hope December 18th, 2023

Hi everyone! It is that time of the year again. Goals are motivating for some of us and for others it is unnecessary pressure especially when they come packaged in new years resolutions

Lets reflect on the different goals we have for 2024. These are not necessarily your resolutions, just a way for you to reflect on what you want.

  • Share some adventurous goals that you would like to achieve (Win in Olympics)
  • Share some reasonable goals (Become consistent with walking X miles  everyday)
  • Share some challenging but doable goals?

If you want to set a resolution, you can pick one from the goals you listed out and if you don’t then now you know somethings you value!

Share with us your findings.

@Hope i´m not one to make new years resolutions, but now that i´m older in a transition state of two times in my life from sheltered sick child to getting my *** together adult, i like to set a goal that is serving me as a general direction towards which i am working.

  • adventurous goals: gain weight to stable 50kg - an utopia with that black hole in my stomach making all calories disappear
  • reasonable goals: have a more permanent job, working my way towards the full time mark (currently on 5h shifts mark at a part time job), i think working 6-7h ones towards the end of the year would be absolutely great. However shouldn´t rush it for my own mental and physical health and take it slow. Slow progress is good progress too, get a credit card and sort my finances out to investments and retirement funds once my bank allows me to (need the stable job first)
  • challenging but doable goals: visit my long distance boyfriend, finish THE dress. That thing is haunting me for good 4 years now and still not ready, since when it almost was, i realised i made a gigantic mistake in the beginning and had to take it apart again, get evaluated for mental health (need to save up and make the appointment. Rip social anxiety

@Hope

hey hope, merry christmas in advance! 🎄

honestly, i don’t normally make new year’s resolutions as where i'm from, it’s normally thrown around like a trending song that you’re just so tired of hearing. anyways, as i got older, and have the desires to make and complete goals it’s now something i kinda look forward to? so i’m glad you did this

  • Share some adventurous goals that you would like to achieve

– so my sister and i, along with other immediate family members have been thinking/planning on doing a hike and camp thingy, so i’m looking forward to that.. never gone hiking or camping before

– i’d love to start going out more, even if it’s just to relax and enjoy the outdoors

  • Share some reasonable goals

 – mhm, keeping up with my iron and vitamin supplements as i’m severely anemic and it needs to get under control.

– also, i’d love if i could get some exercise in as well just to stay fit

  • Share some challenging but doable goals?

– start my own business! so i don’t have to do 9-5 or part time jobs, though part time jobs are okay

– like i mentioned earlier, get healthy.. for me that’s definitely a challenge, as i’m normally so busy or i just forget to buy and take my iron and vitamin supplements
