Need Some Goal Companions

I am doing a degree online and my G.P.A. is high enough to get me nominated for an honors society. I have done all the steps except for the last part the meeting of the goals. It's difficult to find people to set up a small goal sharing group with. I had time conflicts with my school's chapter and when I tried social media, I only got two responses in a fortnight.
So I thought I'd try here since this section is all about goals,otivation, and accountability (& because my chapter advisor sent me an email yesterday because I have not accomplished this task yet).
What I need is to come up with a SMART goal (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound)--well all participants would need to do that and then we would check back with each otherbon a weekly basis and see how everyone is doing on their goals. We'd encourage one another and offer suggestions of things don't seem to go according to plan. I'd have to fill out a generic sheet for the honors society (nothing specific, just about my goal in general) and that would be it.
Would there be an interest here? It's quite similar to things that are already being done.
I reviewed another chapter this morning. Well I guessstage because technically I just finished Chapter 1. I took the chapter review quiz and missed two. One was because I misread the question. The other was because I chose the wrong formatting.
@Enthenia
oooh.... bummer about misreading the question. And missing the other question. But it sounds like you did really good on that quiz. Congrats!
I've noticed you've been working really hard on things. Good for you, I'm happy to see your progress. 😀
@IsayUncle I have to keep at it. It's the only way I can deal with mycurrent job--knowing that I'm working on increasing my skill set I mean.
@Enthenia
That is a strong motivator but not always for everyone. But definitely for a strong minded person with purpose. What a great way to turn the tables on a bad situation. Super cool 😎. Do it Do it with No Quit Quit!
I found this video this morning as I was doing my morning routine. I thought I would share it. It is about psyching yourself up and preparing for achieving. 10 minutes long. I hope you enjoy it. I'd love to hear feedback.

@Gettingbettertoday
Hey, how is it going? Have you been able to find a meetup group that will work for you? It is good to hear you are working on this. Small steps!
@lovingRainbow2088
Hi, I'm curious to know how you are doing in your group home. Have you made progress in becoming more independent? Are you meeting your parents expectations?
@ThoughtLight
Hey, how is your mother doing? Is she recovering well?
Have you had a chance to work on studying for your driver's test?
@IchooseLife79 mom is doing great physically. With the cocktail of very strong pain medications, she isn't always in a great mental state but that's to be expected. Yes, I've done a lot of studying. Things just took a different course. I have to first but auto insurance to show before taking the tests. I'm just going to take over mom's car since she won't be using it for a while. Her insurance wants permission from her while in a clear state of mind which isn't going to happen. Then I found out my grandfather was the co-signer so he's calling them next week to fix it. I'm ready for the test. I finally found the newest hard copy of the driver's manual I had put away. I'm feeling confident. It's my first time handling auto insurance shopping though.
@ThoughtLight
So glad to hear your mother is doing better! That must take a lot of stress off right there.
Sounds great that you have studied up. Check that off your list and do a little happy dance. Looking forward to hearing you are driving with a license. :)
@IchooseLife79 mom is on track to potentially spend about 84 days in the hospital. As long as she continues on the track she's on. I've decided when I finish the degree leading to being a licensed mental health provider, I am going to spend part of my career providing support for people dealing with pain, disabilities and in rehabilitation. Her surgeon is the director of the burn unit and he's supposed to call when he has time to talk about an internship. I'd provide counseling throughout my career on the unit for free out of gratitude for what he has done. Especially getting the hospital to absorb the bill since its already over a million. I believe in giving back. I can't wait to be able to share that I am a legal valid driver again after quite a few years of not driving. I will be going to my favorite antique shop to de-stress. My plan also has been that when I'm driving and when the time opens getting a membership at the art museum since I will have the option to go whenever. I wish I had the license right now because I'm dying to go but some more plants for my plant collection in my bedroom.
@ThoughtLight
I've dropped the ball too lately responding but I am really happy with all the progress you're making and I'm glad your mom is on a good path forward if she could stay there. That is wonderful.
You stay at it, you're doing great and you be very careful when you get your license. That's good that your grandfather is gonna help you get that stuff sorted. Good job.
@IsayUncle I got in trouble with my license when I was 19 or 20 because I caused a bad wreck and had no insurance. Then got caught driving on a suspended license. The suspension occurred but my psychiatrist at the time got everything else that could have occurred taken care of. I really miss her. I was eligible to begin driving again a few years ago but the thought of it made me too anxious. My motivation now it that it just HAS to be done and taken care of. Most people I know didn't have the best decision-making skills around 19 and 20. Most parts of the year at 19 and 20 were spent in the hospital anyways. I really appreciate all the support given. I feel alone at most times even with people lately. But on here it is never lonely.
@ThoughtLight
This is exciting stuff. Giving back is such a great things for ourselves and others. :)
@IchooseLife79 being selfless is a big key in gaining a happier life. I can't pay them back with money and for what they are doing with mom all the money, gold and precious jewels in the world aren't enough. So, helping those who need it a lot right now seems appropriate. I'm so glad the burn unit has a peer program. Former patients come talk to current patients. It helped mom a lot. And I told mom that her accident is like the Book of Job. So, there's better things in store for her.
@FaithfulZareia @Ren1478
Hi, how are things going? Would you like to share what goals you have worked on? Is there anything we can help support or encourage you with?
@ichooselife79 Thank you for inquiring on the status of others. I am afraid I haven't been very attentive on that aspec.
@ichooselife79
AWESOME MOVE... reaching out to those others. I'm with @Enthenia on that one. 💓
@IsayUncle
Well you two have a lot on your plates for sure. I had some extra time to go back over the messages. :) I hope they will respond as I'm genuinely interested to see how others are doing.
@IchooseLife79
Yea, Nice. .
thanks.
Often, members hit and miss these threads and may need to vent or give insights. Sometimes they come back to the threads and often they don't but it's really nice when you end up picking up a conversation with somebody and it goes good. So don't get discouraged by those drifting through doing the best they can.

@IsayUncle I unfortunately always have much on my plate....
@Enthenia
Oh Gosh.... You are amazing too. I think all members sharing a thread should interact and pitch in where they can. It's not really set up like that and seven cups but it can be for individual threads, if the author don't mind.
That old saying, "It takes a village." one person often doesn't have the time and I think it's pretty nice if somebody else tries and it's understood that everyone just trying to help and do good things.
So..... No Worries, it's a great thread you got going. We'll all keep it going the best we can. Does that sound good?
You have been doing super good with your studies, so keep that up don't let small distractions get you off track. We are all Goal Buddies.

Just finished my morning routine of videos and meditation. Feeling great about the day and the progress I've made! :) Celebrating the small victories.
@IchooseLife79
Congrats and absolutely about small victories, I'm doing about the same. Finishing house chores and bills and that little bit will feel very good too.
How is everyone doing on their goals? Yesterday I missed my morning routine but was able to do some of it in the evening. Doing it now for today. :)
@IchooseLife79 My certificate for the honors society is being mailed out so I guess I did it. I'm still going to review before my next course starts. Finished my last assignment in my current course & the next one is a lab plus a paper on the lab. Shouldn't be too difficult to do if work doesn't throw me a curveball...
@Enthenia
Woohoo! Awesome news :)
@IchooseLife79 Thanks! I looked at optional extra courses from the society but I'm not sure if I want to pay for them right now. Maybe once I get closer to graduation.
@Enthenia
I see. What do you have left before graduation?
@Enthenia TW... Strobe eect for Tooo Cooool!
You sound awfully casual, 😲..... Holy Moly Jumping Junipers Congratulations!

@IsayUncle I'm not sure about being cool though. And I don't know how I will retain the stuff I've learned. Some of the stuff I may never use.
And, getting the certificate wasn't really hard. Pay a membership fee, watch three videos and submit three reports.
@Enthenia
It will look good on your resume and your wall though. ;)
@Enthenia
OK, so maybe it wasn't all that. Ohh but you took the time to do it, you wrote the reports you submitted the information. So all of that IS super COOL! Good Job and like @IchooseLife99 stated, it adds to your repertoire of accomplishments and will look good on any resume. Keep going kiddo!
Try not to worry too much about retaining all of this information. These times right now are for learning new skills and just absorbing all the possibilities that are out there. Once you set your commitment and start repeating procedures and techniques, you will retain those things in addition as you learn more it will enhance those things. You doing good, keep moving forward.
@IsayUncle I guess. I am hesitant to put things I don't fully understand on my resumé though. Like Java because people will assume I'm some sort of expert. That happened with Adobe Flash (which shows you how long ago my first stint at a university was). Technically I had some experience but not the level employers wanted.
@Enthenia
I have to admit I'm passed the resume writing and being in competition for those types of jobs but I do remember every positive entry you put on your resume adds to form a more comprehensive framework of your personality and determination. And that usually plays a bigger part getting a beginners position because they expect you'll have time to learn to advance.
So even as a footnote, introduction certifications prove to be valuable.
HOW ARE YOU doing with the JAVA learning by your own expectations?
@IsayUncle Not as well as I'd like. I'm trying to get my next assignment done for my current course. I need to do the lab then write about it but work gets in the way. All of a sudden it feels like everyone wants my things done right away even though I have a month to get things done ( which is impossible because of the tediousness of the work and technical problems).
I can't very well do the lab at home because of the dog. She has to wait over eight hours for her exercise so it's not fair to sacrifice any of her time to get classwork done. Besides, if I don't spend 2+ hours playing with her then she gets into things or bugs the cat who doesn't want to play.
I would consider cutting nack on sleep but I only get around five hours as it is...
