Overwhelmed.... Shutting down.... Can't move
To do a chore, task or responsibility when all your options are uninspired and seem hopeless, daunting and pointless can be some of the hardest tasks in the world to do. Even if it is just to take out the trash.
Sometimes the goal needs to be to stop thinking.
I totally get it! I didn't realize my issue was ADHD. I have a grown child and just got diagnosed with a bunch of mental health issues. My whole life I wondered why I just couldn't get myself to do things, especially at home. It's like a switch just turns off. It's not hard, but I feel so blah and even resistant. I feel so alone with these issues. Than you for sharing.
@ellamenopee
I like what you said about a switch turning off... that's exactly right for me too. Your not alone. If you want motivate or share, I'll listen.
My mind whirs and whirs until it tires me out enough not to accomplish a lot.
It's Hard.
Stop thinking... Don't let the monkeys in my head... just keep going.
Finished eggs and got chili simmering (Kitchen a mess!)
Loosen car wheels and jack one side up.
I looked up energy foods... Here's the share.
Top foods to eat if you want to increase stamina and energy for exercising

@IsayUncle
I would sort of disagree with this, apologies for that. You cannot stop thinking whether you want it or not, you can distract yourself from the things and think about something else. The goal should be not to think about something for a very long time and instead of focusing your thinking to something productive and meditating in order to shift your focus. And it all comes with practice and happens step by step.
@Littlefairy28
No apologies needed but thanks for the kindness. I actually agree with you 100%. I'm just so tired of all these things going on in my head, I don't want think of all of them anymore... They tire me out.
Refocus... Focus... Choose and do.... All requires thinking. I'm so tired of doing those things, I don't want to think anymore. But I still must do.
I'll get started on my brakes now. I let the monkeys get me for a couple hours. And thank you for your great insight and comments. I look forward to any replies.

Hey, thanks for the feedback and the researched tips! My thoughts are like yours, but 40-60 per minute. No wonder I'm exhausted all the time. Sometimes, we do what we need to just to quiet those, right?
@ellamenopee
You're welcome, My episodes come and go luckily. When I'm maintaining, I start doing more and more with promises and obligations made and then BAM.... Too much noise and,,, here we are. and just Like you said, we try to quiet the noise to function.
Yes! Deadlines and demands are my favorite things! 🤣😨 It's nice to know someone understands.
As every day passes and I miss obligations and deadlines I vow not to make anymore promises until I can build a routine. I need my routine. if I cannot do anything else... I must have a routine. I see a strong routine as a strong foundation where all that is important is completed before promising my time and energy to other things.
@IsayUncle
aww
For the past week i've been having epic dreams of failure.
I wish I had the time to share them in their entirety. So detailed.... So real....
Waking up, but feeling like a hopeless loser. BUT i've worked so very hard for the past few years, and have aquired numerous advantages for something good.
In my dream last night, it ended with my ex telling me that I was suffering from the human laziness syndrome. These bad dreams are feeding into my already deep depression.
I'm losing.... tried to do the right thing, get some meds and mental help... more epic failure but not because of me.....
I see the date of this first post is 2022 and I can't believe after everything that I've achieved, I'm back in the same boat in 2025.
I'm so very tired........ Fight or Flight?
Fight.... Back to the basics..... Core balance chores, cleanliness and order.
Where to start?, What a mess i got myself into. I do not have financial security. Forced to work but cannot seem to get ahead or take care of lifes basics while try to work also. I'm feeling too old to keep trying. Maybe sell all I own, sell all my dreams away and dissapear into the world, embracing my insignificance.
Back to the basics today.... Get dressed.
A funny part of last nights dream (probably Elon Musk influenced). Throughout the entire dream, a background theme, was waiting for a rocket to go across the sky. Finally it did, but it had the effect of those old Buck Rogers films. Kind of flying sideways, tilted up with flames coming out the sides of the wings. The funny part is, as the flames left the wings, the flames turned into metal panels that fell from the sky. My brother-in-law was running across the yard to pick them up for collectors items. I was thinking to myself that I did not need to collect any more junk.
(Real Life) ALL my junk in my yard is a constant reminder of my failed ideas and aspirations.
OK, I'm going to try to re-engage the fight.
It'll be hard because everything, and, "I MEAN EVERYTHING", is in such grand disorder. Back to the basics! Get clean... home and person.
