Struggling with Forgiveness
Forgiveness can be challenging at times, especially when someone we've cared about hurt us.
Often times, we hold onto these memories and negative thoughts which can affect our daily lives, and even our mental health.
Forgiveness can take time and may be a slow process, but can be achieved by all.
What do you struggle most with, when forgiving someone?
I often find it difficult to let go, and begin the process of moving on, and although I struggle with it, I find healthy coping mechnaisms, to ensure that I can move on and repair my relationship with the person, as long as the person's relationship with me is healthy.

OMG Heey! Its so good to see you back!!
What I struggle most with at the first place is accepting something actually happened. I am delusional most of the times and acceptance someone has done something wrong to me is hard for me at the first place xD
@River

@River
You put a big smile on my face, thanks :D You guys are the best family ever.
It's not that I struggle with the act of forgiveness, because I can willingly forgive. I have a problem with the closure. I realize forgiveness is for our own personal well-being, but when the other person has no concept or care of the hurt they have caused and the damage that has been done, no amount of my forgiveness makes the pain and hurt I feel go away. I mean I don't want anything bad to happen to the other person, and I have no desire to mistreat them as payback. But I have that need for them to at least acknowledge what they have done. This only applies to the people who really had a negative effect on my life. They just walked away as if they did nothing, and I've been left trying to understand and piece my life together. Some things have very long lasting consequences.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and story. You are very right, closure can be very hard especially if someone disregards your feelings. People often forget about the consideration of others and don't take in account for what they've done to you, regardless if they're in right or wrong. Consideration of others feelings, is something we have to consider if we want to be forgiven, we have to mean our apology if we want authentic forgiveness. I appreciate the post <3
@MissSkeleton hi I am new to this I am trying to figure out if I am wrong. my husband askede to stay home with our kids before we were married, untill recently I was available to him 24/7 but he has not gotten the raises to meet the standard cost of living so I got a job driving for Lyft while I have been at work if I have a customer in the car I can't answer his calls but call back as soon as possible he started talking to a girl from work seeking comfort. I blocked her # and he went out of his way to reinstate it he also doesn't see the problem over the last few weeks he has randomly picked fights and stormed off I am not sure am I crazy because I don't want my husuhus to have an emotional affair is this not an emotional affair?
@alib579
Hi there, alib579, I am not a professional, and cannot give you advice nor tell you what is or isn't an emotional affair for you, however it sounds like a very exhausting situation. Sometimes we need to take a big step back and cool down before approaching situations, and create a safe place of communication between us and the person we are having disagreements with. Taking the time to hear both sides out, and understaind eachothers perspective can help with that, and if mistakes were made, lead down to a road of forgiveness, however you are the expert on you, and your situation and know yourself the best, so use your best judgement to assess the situation, and do what you believe is right for your mental health, and safety.
