The Monotony of Chores
You are invited to share your stories about functioning through the daily challenges.
Yesterday, I did nothing all day and started feeling very guilty but then resigned to having a ME day. Today feels overwhelming because I am putting a huge expectation of accomplishn=ment on myself today.
Please feel free to cheer me on because even as I type I just want to crawl back in bed and watch tv all day like I did yesterday.
3:43am: Clean kitchen.
Anyone that follows any of my goals posts knows that I'm alway battling washing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen. This is a serious discipline problem I have. Cooking is a pacifyer for me. As is eating... I would say I have a borderline eating disorder @ 300+lbs.
My Simple chore of cleaning the kitchen always turns into me cooking something else while cleaning the kitchen and then snacking on that and then having to wash those dishes too. between the cleaning, cooking and eating, by the time I'm done "Cleaning the kitchen" I'm tired and want to take a nap.
This problem is not easy to solve because it involves my eating disorder (Always snacking via boredome or insecurity) AND of course... lack of discipline in a couple of areas.
Anyway... just saying. 😊. I did get my kitchen cleaned along with making some quick chocolate candies and a Hominy chili dish. I did put those away as not to keep snacking on them. I am not going to nap before working on my next chore.
5:37am: Sweep and Vacuum floors.
Sweeping and vacuuming floors does not seem like an end all task but I've been tryng to get to it for two weeks and it is one of those chores that block my brain somehow.
I finally got started about 3 hours ago but have been watching tv, snacking and napping for 2-1/2 hours now. Why? Why? Why? I have so many other things to do.
8:31am: Continue Sweeping and Vacuuming floors
It obviously should not have taken me 6 hours to vacuum and sweep 4 rooms. It sounds ridiculous even to me. Have you ever had a task or chore that you just could not wrap your head around and every distraction in the book kept you from starting it and if you did get it started, it was like pulling teeth to keep going. That's just the way it goes sometimes but I DID IT... Really no big deal but it's a load off my shoulders.
11:45am: Morning tasks and Medicine packs.
I did not continue my tasks. I snacked, and napped and now have a kitchen to clean my kitchen plus my earlier tasks.
3:10pm: Make medicine packs and clean kitchen.
3:10 tasks completed!
Caffeine disclosure... 1 cup of caffeine charisma + 1 energy pill.
4:55pm: Change dog bedding - Start laundry - Sort mail
4:55pm tasks completed.
7:55pm: Got 'er done! TOMORROW = Tons of filing and paperwork. But today was good and it got me there. Thanks for all the hearts and support. 😊🙏💜
@IsayUncle Great job! I hope you can relax the rest of the evening!
@mytwistedsoul
Thanks again soul. I went straight to bed. I did wake this morning feeling more confident. If I think too much about the paperwork in front of me, I could easily get deflated. One hour at a time -
@IsayUncle You're welcome! Good morning to you too! Nothing wrong with getting to bed early and waking up feeling more confident about the day is a great way to start the day! Ugh paperwork 😝 that's like kryptonite to superman. I hope maybe you can treat yourself to something nice after its all finished!
Thank you! I hope you have a great day too! 🙂
8:00am: Still working on 4:45am: task. it is not completed. The more sorted I get things, the more work I uncover for myself. It is daunting and tiring. I will snack and rest for a while.
9:30am: Sort kitchen and Morning tasks.
