The Monotony of Chores
You are invited to share your stories about functioning through the daily challenges.
At ten o'clock last night I finished my back-log of Monotonous Chores and Tasks. As corny as it is/was to have to write it all down here, it really helped a lot to have other members offer support.
@IsayUncle I think it's great that you got caught up on things! I totally agree with how getting things done gives that feeling of accomplishment. I feel that with doing yard work. Plus it helps to be able to see what was done. I actually went through and organized a closet today. I'd been putting off for over a year 😅 I used to be a crastinator but then I went pro 😁
Seriously though this thread of yours helped 👍
@mytwistedsoul
HaHa - you're a real Pro! Congratulations on the closet. A daunting 1 year nemisis conquered.
Good job😃. Glad this helped, breaks the monotony a little.
@IsayUncle Thanks! They say to work with your strengths 😁 Looking forward to seeing your new Routines thread too
@mytwistedsoul
Sometimes though... very little strength to work with lol. But work with what we've got, absolutely😊
My routine thread has been a 6 month task in the working. 2 years ago... divorced. 1 1/2 years of scrambling and regrouping.... going any way the stongest wind was blowing, as long as I stayed afloat and tried to steer a course. 6 months ago I started to to get control of the craft. Now I know what my daily/ weekly and monthly obligations are. A routine is on the horizen, I'll let ya know.
7 cups and the support here got me this far. 💜
@IsayUncle Sounds like you've regrouped in a good way though! It takes time to figure out what ways work best. I think you're off to a good start! :)
another day.... blah.... blah.... blah.
9:11am. Clean kitchen and dishes. Done!
9:47am: Sort paperwork
@IsayUncle
I know how it feels! One thing that helps is "eating the frog" or doing a hard task first thing in the day. This is supposed to give you relief for having finished the most difficult task and build momentum for the rest of tasks of the day. But sometimes just the thought of eating the frog fills me with so much dread that I do not even feel like getting out of bed.

@mytwistedsoul
Thank you. Merry Christmas to you too.
@IsayUncle Thank you! 😊
