I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.

But importantly, talk about getting it done..... or why it didn't happen yet.

To praise each other for our efforts and wins.

While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.

And to continue trying and not give up.

Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!

Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

@IsayUncle

Hi everyone.  The question at the bottom - the response I have, is forgiving myself many times impacts the most.  When I am harsh or merciful - that is where I am needing to choose to be nice to me so that I can be the best of reaching my goals.

@KristenHR

I agree with you so much on this. Haven't had a chance to respond earlier but we do need to forgive ourselves. We need to let flowers grow in the parts of us that we don't like as we continue to weed and nurture beyond our worsts to make them the best parts of us and out into the open.

That was a great point thanks for sharing.

I hope your week is going great! 😀

@IsayUncle forgivness is hard sometimes me. I'm sure I'm some situations you don't have to exactly forgive certain people. But the biggest struggle is to forgive myself. Guilt kinda eats away at you. I'm not sure if I can forgive myself... But I'm trying ❤❤

Yes, it is so very hard. To get past all the cliches of the benefits of forgiveness and we do realize how very hard it really is. We must remember, beyond the cliches and repitition, forgiveness for ourselves and others is momentous, real and wonderful. So you keep trying, you got this.💖.

P.S. I love seeing all the seeds that you spread to grow flowers in the darkest parts of others. You are beautiful.

I'm going to drink water every day. Not just a sip or two. 16ozs. Every day.

I'm so dehydrated that my heart beat is irregular.

I don't deserve to be treated this way.

Today is day one. It's 5pm and I'm almost half-way there.

It may not be much but it's something. And I'm going to do it.

I'm going to do it for me.

That is a great goal. They say drinking a lot of clear water flushes your system good and gets rid of a lot of the toxins that kinda makes us feel bad. So this is a super goal!

As simple as it sounds, you have to stay persistent and diligent. If you're like me, it's very hard for me to think about drinking water and then actually sitting there and drinking the whole thing.
Well let's hope you're not like me; and it's easier for you, so you can do it. YOU GOT THIS!

Time to fess up, have you been drinking your water this week? 😉 c'mon.... truth 🤗

@IsayUncle

Thank you so much for your support!

I haven't quite reached my goal but I've come pretty close and I'm not giving up.

And I already feel the difference. When I woke up this morning I actually had to pee which hasn't been happening so that's a good sign. And I just feel more positive and motivated in general. Not that I'd describe my feelings as 'positive' or 'motivated' but I'm sure you get what I mean.

It is hard to remember to do it. But even harder for me, when I do remember, is actually making myself take a sip. So I'm also focusing on my inner dialogue to help me. "I deserve to feel good." "I'm worth this effort." That sort of thing.

And your kind words are a tremendous reinforcement of those statements so I can't thank you enough for taking the time to reach out to me.

Someone wrote something in one of the chats yesterday that really resonated with me. To paraphrase they said: I don't know where my next path is but I'm going to keep walking until I find it.

So that's what I'm going to do. Drinking my water is just the first, small step but I know it's one in the right direction.

Whatever else happens in your day today, know that you did a good and kind and generous thing and truly helped someone. And give yourself a hug for that. You deserve it.

You are very welcome! I'm really glad to hear that you made some progress. It doesn't have to be perfect all at once. Try to build a mental system or routine and it'll help. I know sometimes it gets boring doing the same thing over and over again but drinking a good amount of water has some great benefits so I still think it's a awesome goal to shoot for.

I had a 2 part trick that worked pretty good when I was trying to drink a lot more water.

(1) I put a bottle of water on my counter that separated my kitchen from my living room. Every time I walk that path from the kitchen to the living room, the bottle of water was right there at arms reach and it was easy just to stop and and take some.

(2) I kept a bottle (not a gallon jug) of water in front of my kool-aid or soda in the fridge so it was there first. And that worked really well to get a good cold slug of water. The bottle made it easy by not having to have a gallon jug to go get a glass and make a big job of it. (plus it was encouraging to see the littler bottle get empty sooner)😂

I bet you got some of your own tricks that I would like to hear about and I wonder if other people have tricks to help them drink more water. I think just talking about it everyday can help a lot too 😀.

Anyway, I'm glad you did really well. That is a good mindset about not knowing the path but to just keep walking anyway so you stay at it.

Putting in the fridge in a way that makes it easy to reach and easy to drink is really smart.

For me it's just a matter of getting myself to take a sip. The bottle can be right next to me and I can't be bothered to lift my arm to get it.

And it's not that I'm choosing something else instead. I'm literally not consuming liquid all day. I have my morning coffee then... nothing. Maybe a glass of wine with dinner or a glass of milk after but nothing in between.

For some reason, though, with the water, I find it helpful to write the day on the bottle. Somehow if the bottle says "Thursday" then, I don't know, maybe a subconscious need to meet a deadline? Lol. But it works. For the most part anyway.

And I did drink the whole "Wednesday" today plus a bit more. It does feel good both mentally and physically so it's kind of self-reinforcing.

I just have to learn to notice sooner when I'm starting down that path so I can nip it in the bud. The longer you're in it, the harder it is to break out of and I don't deserve to do that to myself.

That's the part I really have to remember.

I feel the same way about making the move to drink the water. I always thought it was kinda weird because the water is good and it does feel good to drink it but for some reason I don't crave it. I guess the fact that we don't crave it is the reason we have to make up reasons to drink it. And I think that's fine, we just get in the habit of it if we do it long enough.

I think putting the name of the day on the bottle is the best trick ever! That really makes sense and it's great that it works for you. Good job on that; and thanks for sharing, I think it'll help other people too.

You absolutely deserve to feel good about yourself and to take care of yourself, absolutely! It's really good that you recognize when you start to go too long without drinking some water. Make sure you drink all of Thursdays water.😏

My goals for this week have been pacing myself (stretches, practicing pain relief strategies, setting reminders to get up or lay down as needed), reminding myself that I'm in control of my life, and not being afraid or embarrassed to ask for help delegating tasks that are too difficult for my abilities. I've caught up on laundry and dishes, and cleaned the aquarium with help, and I'm feeling pretty proud of myself.

You have every right to feel proud of yourself! That's a lot to accomplish; both physically and mentally.

Good job!

That's great getting those chores done. Super cool, congratulations!

You're talking about doing your exercises and stretches and I must say I am in the exact same boat. i'm having upper body aches and pains due to a fall and getting old. I've been going to physical therapy twice a week which I cut down to once a week but I'm supposed to be exercising and stuff at home and I'm not finding the time to do it.

Maybe we can support each other if time allows just to talk about what we did for the day.

Welcome to the thread and thanks for sharing. 😉

Sounds like a plan😉. I hope you can get comfortable and get some sleep, that'll be nice. If All goes well, we'll see you Monday.

I think your words and perspective will do well in the book. You probably got yourself tons of notes already. Have you started an outline or anything yet?

@IsayUncle well actually it's about my life. People have told me many times to write a book exposing some things that shouldn't be. And how life has changed. Lots of people said I can help many others by doing this. So I'm gonna try😁❤

You are young and you suffered greatly. And the suffering continues. But it's not just about your story it's YOU and your revelations that will make the book. I think you can help many people, many many and possibly change things along the way. 🤗
