I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.
But importantly, talk about getting it done..... or why it didn't happen yet.
To praise each other for our efforts and wins.
While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.
And to continue trying and not give up.

Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!

Starting half marathon training this week.

Well the professor got back with me yesterday and gave me some examples. One part I did correctly but I'm going to check the other part.
And I'll probably do more pictures once I get my supply delivery.

@IsayUncle so the example didn't help. I may need to push back my due date back I wasn't able to do as much as I had wanted because I was also setting up the new mobile and the dog wanted to play.
I'm going to try and look up guides at work for JavaFX if I get caught up and see if I can figure out what I'm not doing.
I found a guide and I may be saving the files in the wrong folder/location. I'm going to scrap the whole thing and rebuild it (again). I'm hoping that will fix the issue.

OK-OK, that sounds reasonable. is that going to be a lot of work to remember everything or is there a lot of copy and pasting involved?
Everything it's about getting to the bottom of it and fixing it. Getting to the bottom of it and then getting down and dirty do what you have to do to fix it. You got this and you have another tool in your belt when you're looking for problems.

@IsayUncle I forwarded the page to my home email. It has pictures of where the folders should be. Those have to be in place BEFORE a project is started. I added them to the Program folder but I guess it wasn't enough since I kept getting errors.
This is one thing I dislike about the tech classes. I can't find answers if I don't know how to properly phrase the query.

Yeah I can appreciate that. It makes me so mad on YouTube when I'm looking for a simple answer on something but the algorithm just brings up the same results regardless of how I structure the query.
But After numerous attempts, other bits and pieces come together and I get more information that I can change my query a little bit and often I come up with the solution.
BTW, do you use Y*uTub*, F**eb**k or any other social media for consultation, insights or interaction?
@IsayUncle no. I tried the Book of Faces for that honors society thing and it was pointless.
I do peruse tech forums sometimes when I'm looking for an answer though.

I just did a quick query on YouTube for Java. Lots of instructionals.😀. I don't know if they'll help or just be a waste of time but here is an example.

Now I just thought of Ted talks. I wonder if they might have good information there too.
@IsayUncle I'm still getting errors but I think it's with the application not the code. It shows no errors until I try to run it. I'm missing a plug-in or something but I don't know what I am missing and there's too many to select from.
I sent screenshots to my professor so hopefully he has an idea on what it is.

@calmMango9611 I just hope I get an answer. Cryptic errors was what annoyed me with the beginner's course.
So the explanation leads me to three more articles which don't really explain anything and I search for more terms and go further down the rabbit hole...
The professor didn't specify that I had to use the method in the example so I might do one that makes sense to me. As long as I get the desired outcome, it should be fine.
The other options don't work. I don't think I'm geeky enough to be a programmer...
I went with a completely different program because I wasn't getting anywhere with the preferred one. I don't have the text working yet but I have pictures showing!

Looking at your project again just brought a smile to my face. And yeah you probably got it right about the age thing but he will feel your love regardless of his age. 💕
I am going to try to finish all my paperwork this evening. If I get all of that done, I will be absolutely in tune with my core balance and so tomorrow I might be able to be productive towards advancing my business and income. (currently causing me great concern).

Today's goal is to get the field mowed before tomorrow's rain comes. It's a beautiful day out but I don't feel like mowing 😐 it takes hours and I always hurt afterwards

I hope you got your yard done. And I feel with you on those aches and pains. Maybe you can just relax a bit now and take some pain relief and rest up. If You got all that mowing done, you deserve it. and if not, You surely deserve it anyway.
btw, you gave me a nice heartfelt reply last week and I never got back to touching base with you so I just wanted to say thank you for that. I wish we did have some way to have you helped me with these dogs. I got them for keepers I guess. They are so freaking adorable. I already have three dogs. I'm not gonna let these other three inside the house. my main three are mostly outside dogs but they come and go in the house as they wish. I'm sorry your dogless was right now. these guys would just warm your heart.

@IsayUncle I did get it done. It's hot work when the sun's out lol. I popped some Advil before I went out and took a few more when it was done - of course it's never just a matter of start the tractor and go. The battery was dead. I've been putting off getting a new one because they're so doggone expensive. It doesn't take much to charge it anyway

I can understand estate stuff Being slow going. But it really sounds like you have gotten that run away stagecoach (your dad's estate in the beginning), reared in and got those horses under control you might say. If I'm reading that correctly, that's a very good thing. Hopefully now it's just keeping things under control and riding the trail out.
btw, Thanks for the hot tub. (thanks tiny too!) The guy looks a little creepy so you better keep him for chores around your farm. LOL🤣.
@IsayUncle It is pretty under control you're right. I'm not as stressed about it all the time. The lawyer helped alot. I still do most of the legwork but he and his paralegal have given excellent guidance and took care of things I didn't even know needed to be done. Like advertising an estate for three weeks. I had no idea that needed to be done

I'm late, just joined this community..... but my goal for this week is meeting or exceeding my step goal daily.
Also I have a goal of teaching myself to make frozen yogurt to swap out for ice cream, to help my family make a healthy change

Welcome. Tiny whisperer is trying to sway you; tch tch tch, and many other things will too. Stay strong eat lots of delicious yogurts and live long. ( I love fruit and honey yogurts. The fruit can be chunky or blended nice and smooth. So many delicious combinations, topping them off with some granolas.... Yum Yum Yum.
Please share some of your favorite combinations that you find. If you have the time 😊
Remember these things will take time, doing your steps and taking the time to make the yogurts too. But it's a wonderful use of your time. Making room in your day can be the hard but you can do it throughout the week.

The first frozen yogurt was just plain vanilla- I topped with fresh blueberries and my kids ate it right up. Healthier and I felt good feeding them dessert that had no added sugar and no preservatives. Next experiment is going to be strawberry.
I met/exceeded step goal 6 days in a row. I just upped it, working on meeting the new goal now. :)

That is so fantastic and exciting about your step goals. You need to throw some awesome sauce on that yogurt because you're doing great and making good decisions. During the summer weather you can blend your yogurt with fruits and make freeze pops out of them. Awww, do you love pineapple? Ohh my goodness, frozen pineapple ' strawberry treats.... Just thinking out loud. 😁
@IsayUncle It shows a response from you but I can't find it. I got it done. I had to download a different program. The one I had wasn't pulling the online resources. Once I got the result in the other program, I tried copying the code to the program my professor wants me to use and it still wouldn't work.
With Java one is supposed to be able to write the code once and it can be read anywhere. Which works only if the software cooperates, apparently.

I guess figuring out software glitches is all part of the learning process. It's not just about the code and doing it right, it's also learning about other deficiencies and where problems can lay. So yeah, you're learning these things and that's what it's all about. So.... good job.
It is frustrating though after you do something right and it still doesn't work. It's kind of out of your control but that's all part of it and I suppose the winners learn how to deal with those hiccups.
I'm surprised the program the professor gave you didn't work. arrrrgh. But you'll get it.
@IsayUncle I've used the program before with no issues. For some reason, this aspect of it didn't work. Not sure if that will count against me in the grading.
At least the dog was somewhat patient with me. I'm afraid I didn't play with her as much as normal last week because I was trying to figure the problem out. Trying something and not having it work didn't help with the anxiety over the assignment nor my self-confidence. That's why I was so relieved when I finally got the desired outcome. Once I saved it, I played with the dog and her light up squeaky ball.
I have two more assignments to do and then I move on to a different subject.

I know I'm not getting something right it can be really nerve-racking. You keep a stiff upper lip stay at it. Past problems will get easier and the new ones will make you bigger and stronger in your field. You got this!
