Weekly sharing of Goals! Week #30 2024 (Monday 07/22/24 - Sunday 07/28/24)
I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.
But importantly, talk about getting it done..... or why it didn't happen yet.
To praise each other for our efforts and wins.
While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.
And to continue trying and not give up.
Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!
Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

Why do we do that?
Your efforts matter and your feelings matter because they just do!
Do you do repetitive things to rise above depression?
Do you get tired of trying? (It's ok, that's just being stuck. you can get past that)
@IsayUncle at the moment tired of trying😥 I'm wearing black for the next 8 days
@Tinywhisper11
There you go. That sounds right. Don't forget to put a white or colorful hanky in your pocket.
@Tinywhisper11
Good morning Sweetie. You just rest that wonderful little brain of yours today. No worries OK? Much loves and hugs.... No trying needed today, Just rest and maybe some ice cream. 🤗
@IsayUncle thanks uncle, for understanding, and being so kind ❤
Last week, I told you all one of the main things that causes me to spiral downward is my overthinking.....I got this from another social media site and keep it where I can see it on a regular basis as a reminder....does it help?....not usually.....but at least it reminds me that life is what it is.....

@CyclingThroughLife
We care and try to control too much, (which stresses us a lot more than others that don't seem to care, maybe they do...???). I do like the truth in that quote. I hadn't seen it before.
Thanks.
does that mean i can't have any controla t all?
I got a reprieve from my nagging client because of the rain. She finally can't deny or pretend it's not raining outside too hard to work. Of course me telling her that I would charge her for traveling out there even if I couldn't work might have had something to do with her common sense meter. LOL.
With my efforts yesterday evening AND my reprieve this morning, I'm looking forward to a productive day from several points of attention.
I'D LIKE TO TALK ABOUT THE TOPIC.
@IsayUncle I don't know if I told you lately but your a pretty amazing guy ❤❤
@Tinywhisper11
I really like that amazing guy part! Yep, that's me. 🤪😎.

@IsayUncle When caught in a storm even holding onto a single thing can help you stay grounded <3 it is commendable that you keep an eye on what makes your depression worse and that you can pull yourself up with your will to get better. Hope things get easier and easier everyday ^-^
What are some of the things you can control to lessen episodes of depression?
Focusing on things that are in our control helps, like my thoughts can just stay soaking in the negative lake for days but I have to keep reassuring myself that this dark time will pass like all the other nights before this one. Maintaining a routine helps a lot but it sure is pretty tough to stick to it so for those days the trying counts :)
@BlueDarkAurora
Thanks for talking about this.
I really like what you said about hanging on to at least one thing until you get grounded again. An example of that for me would be just to make sure I got up and washed the dishes every day. Even if I was super depressed I'm laying in bed watching TV being ashamed that I wasn't accomplishing something, I would make myself get up and wash the dishes everyday and make sure my kitchen was clean. It was hard, it was very hard. Sometimes I didn't do it, but then the next day I would.
There was a time and I could not function and I forced myself to follow these three rules just one at a time each day. The 3 rules are - (1) Stay clean. (2) Stay rested. (2) Stay charitable. I believe these three rules saved my emotional life at a time of great darkness and depression. [I'd like to talk more about these later]..... the key - just did one thing a day to stay grouded..... what you said. 😊.
"Focusing on things that are in our control helps, like my thoughts can just stay soaking in the negative lake for days but I have to keep reassuring myself that this dark time will pass."
What a great metaphor, "thoughts just staying in the negative lake for days".... I relate to it. I agree that focusing on something in our control helps us get out of that lake. And also to know (because it will if we let it) that the dark time will pass is very important too.
Maintaining a routine helps a lot but it sure is pretty tough to stick to it so for those days the trying counts :)"
Very Very Very tough..... on hard days, the trying is what counts the most. There is never ever any failing with try. It's impossible to fail trying. You are always winning if you are trying.
Thanks again for the great insight and encouragement.
@BlueDarkAurora
P.S.S. BUT WE DO GET VERY TIRED OF TRYING. I forgot to put that in there. It's OK not to try when we are so tired. It's OK. But it is so very important to try again because you can't fail trying.
I think picking the bones on this one can be a very good topic also.
@BlueDarkAurora
“I have not failed. I've just
found 10,000 ways that won't work.” Thomas A. Edison
@IsayUncle I like the way you write ^-^
Cleaning can feel so rewarding especially if the kitchen looks and feels clean and well fed :3 I'm glad you were able to stick to one of your rules each day!
Trying is tiring @_@ both are closely related cousins I say. For me even having the thought of or the want to do some kind of work counts as trying. So if some days you just want to rest but still know that the next day or the day after that that you have to get somethings done is enough for that day. We have to be a little gentle or our soul just evaporates from the heat of the pressure *-*
Also great quote :) I too have my thousand ways and days that did not work xD but in the process I've found some that do.
To paraphrase Douglas Adams I have six (or is it seven?) impossible things to do today. Finish my assignment, finish my reports for work, write new reports, prepare for the next assignment, get caught up on my daily tasks at work, pay attention to the dog & cat, do a picture and not get overwhelmed. Actually I think that's right.
As for the other question, I'm constantly bombarded with things that I don't really have the time to feel down. I do feel slightly guilty for not accomplishing more yesterday though. Sundays are when I try to get caught up on everything I didn't get to the previous week
I meant eight. Caught that error when it was in the middle of posting...
@Enthenia your life is so hectic, I don't know how you manage to keep going. But we'll done ❤ I'm sat here rooting for you ❤
@Tinywhisper11 Missed this the first time around! The Gif below distracted me I think.
And it's always been like this. Never planned but I don't have anything to fall back on. It's just me. I screw up a lot and worry about things but in the end, it's all on me.
Plus certain things have made me not communicative. Like the environment at work Last time I tried being talkative, I got in trouble. I do talk to a few people in other departments but usually I'm at my desk trying to keep ahead of everything. Or, the other thing that doesn't make me communicative, is bringing points up over and over again only to be acknowledged but nothing done about them.
And since my afternoons are filled with the dog and cat (mostly the dog) I really don't have the time to be sociable. Also, I don't have much to talk about. I have no idea what's in vogue (never followed trends) so connecting is difficult. I talk to pet owners but we don't see many with the temperature being as hot as it has been. Weekends, we're out at five. Never see anyone else out that early.
So I've just gotten used to everything. Nothing really spectacular about that
@Enthenia well thank God we have this site ❤ we can be ourselves here, and communicate with each other🙂❤
@Tinywhisper11 Most of the time I don't have time to interact. That's why I stopped being a supporter. My presence here is eclectic...
@Enthenia awww that's sad🙁 today is self care awarness day. Just take time today to do something nice for yourself ok? ❤
@Enthenia
That's awesome, handling all that atuff, or doing your best. You are a real fireball!
@IsayUncle thanks. Not sure about the awesome part. The work stuff I don't have a say in--not if I want to avoid getting in trouble.
The schooling I brought up on myself --mainlt because I didn't want to be stuck in my current job.
Actually all of what I have to deal with can be attributed to me in one way or another which does give rise to moments of doubt, regret, and insecurity but at the end of it all, I am responsible for two animals who can't take care of themselves so regardless of how I feel, they have to be taken care of.
@Enthenia
I think it's a real blessing when someone admits their own responsibilities and takes accountability for them. That's a rare strength for a strong foundation that can go in many directions. With that attitude you will get there. And keep caring for those pets, that's important too. 🐶🐱
@IsayUncle AA and the spreadsheets crashed. AutoRecover recovered nothin. Have to get back on the VPN and go through the majority of the report again. Also have to pull three customers's info on normal settings.
I have my view configured to high contrast because it's easier on my eyes. No one else does it so I've found that when someone else reviews what I saved, they save over the information because it's not in "normal mode".
Three hours lost because of the spreadsheets...
@Enthenia
Oh man Oh man Oh man, Arggggh.... wasted time! but not your fault! I hate it sometimes. i'm sorry 😩😫😢
@IsayUncle it's okay. I was able to do some work on the assignment. I had to redo the diagram because I had it set up wrong. With luck, I can submit it tomorrow. Also have to type up the reports on the VPN tomorrow since everything is due. And I can't do anything Wednesday because I have to go to the dentist.
@Enthenia
What exactly is a diagram?
Boy, it's pretty sad when the only day you can look forward to having off going to the dentist! 😁🤣😂.
Good luck at the dentist.🤐.
@IsayUncle a diagram is a plan, sketch or drawing used to explain how something works or to show a relationship between parts.
But I'm submitting the assignment now (five days after my projected date) and I need to get back to work. Still have a lot to do.
The dentist is never that bad. Most of my time is spent waiting.
And, I just copied the instructions for the next assignment. Just as tedious as the one I recently finished...
Trying to get the reports written. Still have to enter them in on the platform and other people want to know where something else is. This is why I have no time for anything. Everyone wants fifty things done at the same time and accurately!
@Enthenia
I could not do that. I got stressed out with one nagging client.... for real, people need to be nice instead of forceful and inconsiderate. but that's a pipedream with regards to successful agendas.
When you say you have to do diagrams, are those for school for your projects or is those for work your targets?
@IsayUncle the diagrams are for school.
Work is tedious enough what with having to pull information from three places then putting it in a Word document. Then putting that information in another application.
And, occasionally discovering that someone else went in after the fact and altered the data you've saved (sometimes removing it entirely) with no explanation or anything...
Had a headache when I got home. Had to take something. Not sure if it was from the weather or from what I ate or from work...
@IsayUncle I want to make sure I get out of my camper and take a hike.
@selfdisciplinedPenny281
ththat sounds like a good idea if it's not raining. Do you live in your camper or are you camping out?
a little bit of both I lived in my camper for about two years during covid and travelled the east coast with my daughter Then we lived in the camper during the renovation of a house that we bouthght Now Im camped out in a public forest for two weeks while my daughter goes to sleep away camp I
m kinda broke and it was cheaper than driving back and forth again
I made it to the end of the road and the parking lot to the trail head. Its been really gloomy for the past few days. We finally have some sunshine, so I may try to hike to the stream with my dog. She just discovered she enjoys water, but we need some sunshine for her to dry off.
@IsayUncle his birthday is on tuesday, just 6 days away. I'm happy it's his birthday and he's gonna be a teenager ❤❤ but I wish things were different, I wish he was here with me. I really wish I could hold him again 😞 I don't know how I'm gonna get through the next 7 days 🙁 I want my son back 😭 I should've have protected him, I should have been a better mum. I hope he gets to celebrate his birthday in heaven
@Tinywhisper11 Tiny <3 He is just as much a part of you as you are of him, he lives on in your heart. Your soul is holding him close and he is holding yours. Sometimes they give us signs of their love with little things like a breeze that brings a smile on your face, a butterfly flying by, something gone right by luck or a song that you like. I keep looking for signs when my heart hurts and that helps let the moment pass. I'll keep you in my thoughts<3 You'll come out of this stronger than before.
@BlueDarkAurora I just went outside to sit in the garden by his willow tree and cross🙂 the mornings I get to sit outside, watch the sunrise and see all the birds waking up, coffee and music it's just the best feeling 🙂 I'm trying really hard ❤ thanks for always being supportive of me, gives you a giant tiny hug ❤❤
@Tinywhisper11 Someone as gentle and kind as you will always have people who love and support you :) I'm so glad you have mornings like this and I know you're trying. It'll be alright, take one step at a time. Sometimes I like to write letters and burn them to see the smoke rise up to the sky, it feels like my message reached them ^^ I hope you find many ways that help you heal <3
@BlueDarkAurora thankyou ❤ and that's a good idea, I do something similar, I attach poems/messages to balloons and let them float up to heaven 🙂❤
@Tinywhisper11 :O I'll try that :) <3
@Tinywhisper11
Believe Tiny, Believe! He Is in heaven watching down on you, waiting for you to celebrate his birthday. He can't celebrate without you. Sorry mum, sometimes parents have to put on a strong face. But behind the scenes we're here with many shoulders to cry on.
@IsayUncle really *pulls confused face* how many shoulders do you have???😮😮 are you a alien 👽???
@Tinywhisper11 ^^^^^(*-*)^^^^^
@BlueDarkAurora 😂😂
@Tinywhisper11
Only two but they're big, strong and they hold lots of water.
@IsayUncle then I'm gonna need to use both of them😭😭 hows your week going?
@Tinywhisper11
I know..... 😢. We can do this together.

BUT.... Are we still going to have a Birhtday party on the 30th? 🍨🎂🎉
I think I got a grade on the latest assignment. Haven't had time to look. Got work stress to deal with.
Part of the next assignment will have to be done at home because the tools I need to do the graph are on my computer.
I made a list of all the things I planned to get done this week prior to leaving for my trip tomorrow. I haven't accomplished them all yet, but most are done. Some weren't done on the day I planned to do them on, and I stressed hard over that fact, but they all eventually got done. This busy week will come to an end today when I pack the car. Tomorrow morning will bring a stress of its own. If you have ever drove on I-95 you know what I am talking about. I have google mapped and searched route after route, but I-95 is the quickest and most direct route to my destination. Stopping over night and breaking up the trip helps. I'm only traveling 7.5 hrs the first day and 6 the second to my destination. All those hours in the car straight through make me miserable in my older age...... Anyway......I hope you all continue to hit your goals and thrive the remainder of the week. I will attempt to stop in and say hello during the trip. Have a great weekend if I don't get in here......
Got caught up to yesterday at work! Not sure how with everybody wanting me to everything at once and I can't go against the gospel of the leads (got an email about that today. Put an entry on the spreadsheet but it wasn't verbatim so apparently I blasphemed. I've been in trouble before for not strictly following the glorious wisdom of the leads).
The picture above is from Fawlty Towers where Basil (John Cleese) spends a good portion of the day trying to hang a picture. Eventually his wife comes up and asks if he's typed the menus and he shouts "Right!", veers away from the picture and causes it to crash to the floor
--This is how I feel most of the time at work. And, just like Basil, I can't say anything about it although I don't know if the leads and management can be as vicious as Sybil Fawlty...
I looked at the instructions for the 7th assignment again and pushed the due date back for the other two. I had some spare days to do that. The 7th assignment is all about the chart which I will have to do at home when the dog's taking a nap.
@Enthenia

@IsayUncle thanks. Got a "pay better attention" email today for typing a number in wrong on a report I did 6 months ago Really? That's like smacking a dog for tearing something up a week ago (not that I do that to my quadrupeds...)
