I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.

But more importantly, talk about getting it done or why it didn't happen today.

To praise each other for our efforts and wins.

While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.

And to continue trying and not give up.

Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!

Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

I've added a "soft" tag list to this thread because I start a new thread every week and it gets lost sometimes. Anyone that is interested in following and interacting might not be able to find it so I hope this helps. It's a soft tag list because it's not permanent. It will fluctuate with activity and requests. Agreeing or requesting to be on this tag list will keep you on. If I got you on here by accident, please let me know because it's supposed to be a helpful thing and not an intrusion.

Here's to a Fresh Start
You Can Do It! We Can Do It!

I scream for ice cream, you scream for ice cream, we all scream..... WE CAN DO IT!

I'm focusing a lot of curriculum this week, because I want to start the program on Nov 5th.  So there is a lot to put together by then.  It doesn't all have to be done, but at least half has to be done by then in it's entirety, and a group of people ready to be set up with it.

So complete as much as possible, and do some marketing.

I like your focus on a bigger goal rather than daily goals.  Congrats on your progress!

Thanks. I'm trying to move onward and upward. I got fired from my bussing job last week for running errands with the bus (on the way home after all drop-offs) which is mostly accepted unless a resident calls and complains. Small town with big tattle tails.

I hope your curriculum comes together in a timely manner. What program are you trying to start by November 5th and how many participants/students are you working with?

Sorry to hear about your job.  That's sad to hear especially when you do so much for your kids.

It's an eating disorder and trauma program with plans to start the first Sunday in November.  Just need to finish writing.

I'm doing well.  I have a team helping.

I'm changing my viewpoint about listing my goals. There was a time that it was a big goal just to get out of bed and start moving around. And then after that it got to be very hard to do normal everyday household stuff so every little thing was the goal for me to achieve.

I've got into a bit of a routine now so all these hard little things for me to do are just obligations now they just have to be done and so I do them. My frame of mind has changed and so I don't consider these daily things as a goal but with all of them lumped together I guess my everyday goal is to meet my daily obligations.

I think I've healed enough to take care of my daily obligations and so now I will probably just post a pointed and larger goal that I'm going to try to achieve. I have so many huge projects that I started and none of them are done, so I think I'd like to seriously plan, achieve and complete whatever large project I commit to as a priority.

I don't know really where to start this week because I've changed careers a little bit you might say and I just have to regain my balance, so I'll see how it goes this week. Wish me luck, thanks.

How is rebalancing going so far?

@KristenHR

It was going pretty good. I had three significant side jobs lined up and was getting into a new rhythm with new hours and then our big backhoe had a major mechanical failure.

Luckily I had a friend that helped me take all the parts off the front of the motor and get to the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump is what runs all the cool stuff on the backhoe.

Another good stroke of luck is the part that turns to hydraulic pump, called the coupling is what went bad and it was not the hydraulic pump. Coupling cost about $300 and the hydraulic pump cost about $2800.

But even though I was lucky with the cost of the repair in having help from a friend, things are really trying to knock me off balance.

My elder sister and her husband is supposed to be visiting me and my world is in a mess. I was hoping to have things set up pretty nice for them and I'm just struggling, I can't be good company, I'm ashamed that I lost my job.

With all that said, I have developed a plan to move forward. I'm going to see if I can get my job back but I don't think so. My boss and the education supervisor want me to be able to come back to work but the lawyer said it wasn't a good idea so they're sticking with that right now. Whoever complained must have some significance in the community. This week I'll work on that and work on my backhoe to get it running. By next week I know where my jobs are at and decide if it's time for me to get another full time job.

Thanks for asking. I know I gave you an earful but I'm having less time to post so it felt good to talk about it. Thanks again.

I'm glad to hear you got a team helping you to work with your programs. I knew that you worked with the eating disorders and the trauma but when you said you were working on a new program I thought it was a new subject matter. But now I think I get it; your programs are your materials for the classes and seminars about eating disorder and trauma. I hope they flow together for you and I'm glad you're doing well.

I've been super busy and not able to get on the computer. Hopefully I'll be on this evening for an update. I'm struggling to type this out on my phone lol. Just wanted to say I hope the two of you have accomplished all you needed to this week and are close to attaining your goals. Sending my support.

Things are busy.  With that said, part of me being so busy has to do with me and some self care.  Exercise and biking is a form of self care for me.  I joined a fitness challenge with an online bike group I belong to.  Its a spin bike group, but we track mileage on any type of bikes.  Since the weather was so nice in New England this week, I managed some mileage outdoors.  I did 30 on Monday, 30 on Wednesday, and 25 on Thursday.  Add that to working, transporting my son to and from practices, and games, I've been ready to just relax and spend time watching shows with my girlfriend after we have dinner.  I'm really looking to relax and not do much on my days off.

While biking those incredibly long journeys, I imagine that the ability to pass the scenery has to be beautiful in places and can be seen in a way you can't see in a car.

Love that you get some down time too.

I can only imagine how hectic things can be for you but I think it's really awesome that you are holding fast to your baseline of self-care and self-discipline. That's really great. You deserve an awesome weekend and I hope you get it.😀

I have kept the digital journal or To Do List in Microsoft Word since about 2018. I've always kept some type of journal and To Do List but the one this one I've been writing in has been consistent every day since 2018 so it's has a bit of a history to it.

Since I'm focusing on bigger goals and I'm not writing down my little things so much, I'm not keeping my digital journal which is a good thing because it actually turned into a bit of a deterrent. It gave me an excuse to come into the office and sit in front of the computer and write down and talk about what I am going to do instead of using that time to do what I needed to do.

I'm now keeping a handwritten To Do List, journal. It has actually helped me this week to keep my daily momentum going. I think lists are extremely important to maintain and try to do things but for me, it seemed like I was using it as an excuse to avoid doing things. This is just a personal observation about myself in this space of time and it can change as time goes on.

I hope you had a satisfying week and will be able to use the weekend to rest and recharge.

I like lists, but I like my big list so it feels like big accomplishments!  lol

Right now I have a list of like 135 things, but I've been able to check off multiple ones on the first page.  It feels amazingly good.  Plus, the curriculum is 12 boxes per page and there are 3 pages, and those are getting checked off near daily so that feels awesome as well.

I definitely believe in lists, yet at the same time, I do not believe that there is failure in not checking something off.  These are things I want to accomplish.  If it's a have to do, it goes in my planner.

@KristenHR

I agree, list are more than important. I think vital is an accurate word. That's really awesome that you have a good list system. It sounds like you have multiple approaches which is pretty smart I'd say.

You mentioned having twelve boxes for your curriculum and which brings up a good observation for me. If I'm understanding that right, those would be more of a checklist for you so that you don't miss anything. If I'm right then going on the topic of checklists, those are awesome. It is so much easier to do a checklist then trying to remember each step.

This is really kind of a small epiphany for me. Having a Checklist, a To Do List, and a Big Goal list. I think I'm gonna bring this topic up again in week #45.

Having a list is important but not feeling like a failure if you don't complete it is very important and critical also. You mentioned this in your post and I think that's what was happening to me with my digital list or journal.

The entire list was forever there and so things that I never got to we're subconsciously eating at the back of my brain. I think subconsciously stressing me out that I wasn't getting to them.

This is a great topic I hadn't expected it to be so thought provoking. But ultimately, a list is the first stepping stone to regaining our balance and getting things done for ourselves throughout the day.

Keep checking off those boxes. 😀 you got it going on now.
