Weekly sharing of Goals! Week #9 2024 (Monday 02/26/24 - Sunday 03/03/24)
I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.
But more importantly, talk about getting it done or why it didn't happen today.
To praise each other for our efforts and wins.
While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.
And to continue trying and not give up.
Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!
Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.
I start a fresh thread for this series each week. Sometimes the new thread gets lost and is hard to find.
Being tagged makes it easier for those interested to follow the series.
If you want to be Added or Removed, please let me know. 😊
BUT always visit when you can. We love to hear from you! 💗.

Have you ever had a NEMESIS chore or
task to do? What is a NEMESIS chore or task you might ask? |
I'll continue the rhyme theme. LOL 😂

So this is what my first post was supposed to look like.
My nemesis chore is my bookkeeping and accounting. Why was it so important for me to get this right? Ohh my goodness..... I'm going gung ho for the rest of the day. It will end good!
Hmm, not sure if I would say it is a nemesis goal, but where I am struggling right now is to get moving with goals and finding a balance. Right now I have eighteen goals/habits I'm working on. Too many, but life demands it. I've chosen a couple to focus on. Still working to prioritize all of them. Small steps thought right? I can do this. :)
@IchooseLife79
I was just being a little bit quirky about the nemesis goal. LOL. the one that's hard to get past. I think you're right, 18 goals and habits to work on is kind of a lot but not terribly over the top I don't think. I think it's great that you got listed and just need to get them sorted in in order.
Sometimes you can shape the order and then sometimes while you're working on the priority ones the other ones kind of take shape just by the nature of things.
I think it's good to be aware of them but also, not let them overwhelm you. And it sounds like you got the right idea too, small steps and consistent steps is the right way to go.
You Do Have This!
One step at a time for me too... thanks for the reminder 😀
I'm breaking things down into single steps today.
I'm only gonna list two or three things in my notebook that are achievable within one hour or less.
I did well with my paperwork yesterday but not excellent. It seemed the more I got caught up, the further behind I was and not realized. I'll finish up today with the single step method.
I had an epiphany this morning. my hurt arm is not healing nearly fast enough and I am not getting any significant additional movement. I cannot take anymore time off of work than this week and I can tell that my arm won't be ready to work after this week. My epiphany is to make a handicap brace that will hold my arm above the controls. I can still use my lower arm, I just can't use my upper arm to hold my arm up without a lot of pain. Ta Da.... I was getting pretty bummed out but now I am relieved I'm kind of excited to move forward.
Hey :) Thought I'd bring part of our previous conversation here so you don't have to go back and forth between threads
I'm glad you were able to ease off on the pain meds. Yeah I didn't think about that - with the levers - they would pull on your shoulder. That pretty ingenious to rig a brace of sorts to hold your upper arm still 👍
Uh this week for me - i dropped papers off at the lawyers last week and am getting ready to head that way as soon as I finish writing here. They need a copy of my driver's license and a check lol. Court filing fees. Which holy cow 😜 expensive. But hopefully things will be rolling now and I can get the letters I need to handle the rest of the estate
The weather decided to be mild right now so yesterday I spent time outside getting some garden beds cleaned up and fertilized. Cool thing about having a horse and chickens - I have handy fertilizer lol. I'll probably continue down that path today after the lawyer
@mytwistedsoul
BTW, I just coined that phrase of the nemesis goal this week because of my inability to get to my paperwork. It became my nemesis. 🤣
But I would view your lawyer stuff a bit of a nemesis goal for you.... Maybe not.. 😁, don't matter because It is really awesome that you're moving forward on that. I'm happy for you, good stuff!
We've been enjoying some mild weather too. A little bit wet, just enough to make me feel not guilty for not trying to go push the mud around.
It sounds like we both live in a rural environment which I think is a blessing and it sounds like you make the most of it too. I've been way too busy scrambling after my divorce to do anything constructive on my property but hopefully this year starts to level things out a little bit. I love the spring out here in the woods. It's always like a fresh start, same story but a fresh start. The crazy Pickles are starting to pop up on the banks or should say Daffy Dills 🤪. Some call them daffodils... I love them yellow flowers popping up out of the grey ground.
I kind of set up this thread like that. every week is a fresh start what but our same story continues and if we wanna leave the baggage behind us we can and if we wanna work through it then we can but it doesn't have to stay attached to us in the same very long thread. A fresh start every week for 52 weeks but the same storyline🙂. So it's great to carry things over from different threads.👍.
@IsayUncle Thanks! With taxes and stuff coming up I'm glad I contacted the lawyer when I did because I'll have to file his final taxes too
I had a very good day today.
The doctor said I had no fractures or cracks nothing broken in my shoulder and she's gonna set up some physical therapy for me. I also set up a phone appointment with her for Friday so she can try to tell me what might be hurting so bad because it's more than just arthritis.
I got all my paperwork done and got a tax appointment set up for Thursday. I wasn't expecting to get squeezed in so quickly but that's great to get it done this week while I'm taking it off.
I picked up another big job on the books to go to when we can get to it. And now that I figured out a way to run the equipment without ruining my arm, I feel much more encouraged. I was very worried about that I'm not sure what the heck I was gonna do so I'm glad I came up with this solution.
Not celebrating yet, until things get into the groove but pretty happy.😄
@IsayUncle
woohoo glad to hear!
<3 I brushed my teeth today. I have gone years without doing it. But this year its been more often.. :) Today. I brushed my teeth, flossed my teeth and I even flushed my mouth out with oil and mouthwash. - I can't feel embarrassed because someone told me the small goals matter. And just getting out of bed is one of mine. I brushed my teeth today. Whatever you did today is enough because you got to see this moment. I'm gonna keep going. I hope anyone who reads this does too. :D <3
@PettyPomegranate
That is fantastic. It makes me happy to see you feel good about that.
That's what this thread is all about because it wasn't too long ago I was where you're at. So, if that is your first stepping stone I am so proud of you for taking that step.
I even say that in this threads introduction. I copied and pasted it from up above to here so you could read it again.

Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!
And brushing your teeth is even a little bit better. 🤗
@PettyPomegranate
Believe it or not, I have a toothbrush hanging on my motivation board. It is to remind me that each day is a fresh start and to use small steps. Just like brushing your teeth, just because you missed a day of a coping skill doesn't mean you stop altogether. You just start again. :) Small steps make for big successes, right?
@IsayUncle my goal is to take my driver's written test the week after next to renew my driver's license.
@ThoughtLight
That's a great goal. Are you studying and refreshing your memory about things. it's not too far away, just a couple weeks. That'll be a big accomplishment when you get your license renewed, that's awesome. Are you worried about the written test? I'm horrible at those things.
I read in another post about your mom. 😟 I hope she does well and I know it's hard to do things when you're mind is occupied with worry and perhaps more obligations. Wishing you the best because you got this! Keep us posted so we could celebrate you when the time comes.😊
@IsayUncle Well, they have made the written test a lot harder than the last time I took it. Especially now that my areas have roundabouts everywhere now. Nobody seems to know how to use them, but they added it to the test. It will be fine though. I think is up to 40 questions now though. Driving test will be easy because they don't make you parallel park or get near a roundabout. Mom being is the hospital is kind of providing that push of having no choice but to get it done. Then I can go to the hospital whenever I please since she's looking at 3 months. But she's doing great. Her skin surgeon is in the top 5 in the US, and he is thrilled by her. Thankfully the hospital is covering the bill. It's barely been a week and it's at 1.2 million. And the hospital is by my new college so it will be good practice for when school starts. I've decided to focus and dwell on all the positives. If a surgeon of his caliber is thrilled it sounds like a good reason to be too. And I only keep the topic of conversation on things completely unrelated when I'm with her. So, it's like a push to get the license taken care of. I'm basically looking at it as being required of me now to keep me in gear. Sometimes we must discipline ourselves. First day driving I'm going to my favorite antique mall though because it's a comfort place.
@ThoughtLight
It sounds like your mom is in the best of hands. That's wonderful but I'm still sorry that she's suffering what she's suffering through. Sounds like it's all under control though and it sounds like you are very close too. I wish the very best for both of you.
Getting your license is going to be a game changer. But perhaps it's time for that change and you should get used to it pretty easy. Don't be scared, you got this..... One step at a time.
@IsayUncle despite how I've felt the past week surprisingly I feel very confident about it. No worries or doubts about the test. I just use mom as my inspiration, and anything becomes possible.
And I have her car and keys under my supervision so might as well use it. First stop antique mall. Thank you all for the boost today.
@ThoughtLight
You're so welcome.
A little jealous about the antique mall thing. I haven't been antiquing for years! SO MUCH FUN! 🤗
Antique malls and shops are a happy place for me. And love the smell.
@IsayUncle
My goal for today was giving my dog a bath. I completed this goal by finding a cup for me to put water in it and finding the dog shampoo for me to be able to clean her.
