Me: With self-imposed purpose, the method by which one lives life becomes fruitful, as any hardship is known only to be a temporary cost for enacting one's freedom.
Nietzsche (perhaps?): Self-authorship is necessary and there is creative potential in suffering.
I'll leave it there as I don't want to put words in his mouth!
