The question for today is:
How would YOU define motivation? (not Google c:)
My definition: Motivation is the will to do something, supported with a reason you believe in to do something :3

My definition: Motivation: To have the ability to give others the will power to do or make something out of very little. Motivation can come from small steps to having a person do something with you as support
Congratulations for the launch of the community.
According to me , there is no particular definition of motivation. Anything around u can motivate u.
There will be ups and down in life. If Life was straight with no downs, it would have been different and not much of interest.
For me ,motivation means setting a goal to achieve something.
My life is of purpose. Without a purpose,I feel lifeless.
For me,motivation is listening to this song.
For me,motivation is having a coffee.
It's really difficult to be motivated if u feel sad but lying down on bed and thinking wish i could do this,its better to do something.
The more u think about it ,the more it hurts.
Do not think anything,why,how and etc.
Motivation doesnt have one particular definition.
Each part of life is a test. It depends on you either think about the past and weep on it or forget about the past and move on. (not easy to forget the past but you have to)
The most important thing ,you can be your own motivation,only if you are true to yourself and believe in yourself.

I would end with Rumi's quote
Sorrow prepares you for joy. It violently sweeps everything out of your house, so that new joy can find space to enter. It shakes the yellow leaves from the bough of your heart, so that fresh, green leaves can grow in their place. It pulls up the rotten roots, so that new roots hidden beneath have room to grow. Whatever sorrow shakes from your heart, far better things will take their place.
For me, motivation means that you really have a reason to do something, wether that reason is it because of its a dream, a belief or it's something that you "must do" and you work hard until it gets accomplished!
Motivation is the mental aspect of achievement. You cannot hope to attain your goals if the lack of motivation overwhelms you. You have to get up, and feel the inner strength willing you to succeed! Without it, little will ever get done how you want it.
@blossombreathe - I would define motivation and something that causes you, encourages you, or inspires you to pursue a goal, action, or even train of thought. As others have said, that can take many forms: a reward, a thought, a feeling, other people, situational or circumstantial.
I feel motivated when I talk with someone in English who has the same problem as I do. Which I've never done, because I'm in Japan. So to motivate them, I suggest they talk with someone that has similar problems.
Say "thank you". It's the little things that counts. Thanks for holding the door open, for staying longer, for helping out, washing dishes that are not yours, for listening, for coming in on your day off...
I'm only motivated if I wanna do it, other wise I am driven by pure intense guilt.
Just watch this video here. Most of the times unity is the answer for motivating others. Empathize with them. And tell them they can even when they don't believe in themselves.
Our self esteem and our drive is stripped off as children or teenagers when our peer is discouraging.
Not everyone is good in the society as adults. There is a lot of competition between us. Everything is a rat race. People tend to bring other people down.
The best way to stop this is, if you drop your ego and say that person is just like me. They are also human. In our world nothing can be done without unity. And therefore its important to motivate each other.
Once this is realized, and some values are instilled, like the children are taught in this video, then motivating people becomes common.
