@happyface1014
I would love you to help me. The others never respond to me or give up on me.
I believe motivation is wanting the best for others and showing them in what ever way that the best is achievable because they deserve it whether it's friends and family or perfect strangers for example the lovely anonymous members on 7 cups
How do YOU define motivation?
Motivation to me is that feeling, that great willingness to do something. Like that spark that can light a fire under your bum to get you going to do something awesome for yourself or others.
Uhm my definition of motivation is that when you see the point in achiving a goal. For example i want to talk with People and to do so i need to get out of bed. Then the goal motivstes me to do something.
In my view, motivation is the internal force that pushes me to do better or keep going despite my struggles. It provides perserverance and confidence. :)
Motivation is an intrinsic felt inner momentum to exert one's ability to try and accomplish something. The focusing part and choosing what task to accomplish is more of a cognitive process, which can certainly be done indepently of having this felt motivation, like with people who have depression.
For example, I can know I need to do the laundry, but I don't have the instrinsic felt inner momentum to exert my ability to try and accomplish it. I know it's a task I'm capable of completing, but I can't feel that inner momentum I need to do it.
It is also separate from willpower, which is when one places pressure on oneself to perform, regardless of lacking this intrinsic felt inner momentum, and forcing oneself to do it anyway. The problem with this is that it breeds feelings of resentment and willfulness. Willpower is a depletable resource and can often backfire when relied on too much to accomplish things.
@Zeraphim really loved it <3
Motivation = Something that inspires you. Your drive to do something.
@Totheskyandbeyond
Great definition! Thanks for sharing :3
@blossombreathe Sure breathe. =) =)
@blossombreathe
Ooh, I love your definition! And damnit, no Googling! :p you caught me...
Hmm, motivation to me is knowing why you're doing what you're doing, and having a strong enough passion in it to persevere despite any obstacles you may face along the way.
Feels like I'm delving a bit into resilience here :p

I think it's important in daily life, as we have to know why we do what we do, and have a direction and sense of purpose in our lives. Without it, we'd be lost and feel minimal sense of grstification and grstitude in life. My opinion anyway :) motivation helps us achieve our goals.
@rebecca947 I totally agree, motivation can certainly act as a compass and help us navigate through the day. It is a major force in keeping us inspired to follow through with goals. Thank you for sharing!
@lovelyWhisper66 Motivation helps us to be the best we can be when doing a task, gives us a purpose to strive. It also helps to clarify our goal and give confidence, so we know exactly what we are working for.
"People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing. That's why we recommend it daily"
@PolarLight Oh, nice quote! Motivation certainly fluctuates quite often. I love how you mention that it gives clarification for our goals as well; it helps us stay on track to reach out our goals. Thank you for your response!
@lovelyWhisper66
Motivation is important in our daily life because we need it in order to accomplish things. Some things are easier to be motivated about, but others can be a lot tougher.
@neatBalloon7178 I totally agree, motivation can help us through difficult times. Some things certainly require more motivation than others, and it also varies by person. Motivation is key to accomplishing things; it's a driving force for sure. Thanks so much for your response!
@lovelyWhisper66
Motivation is the engine that drives us. After some time of practising it our autopilot will be set on self-motivation and we can react to challenges much better, feel stronger and have more self confidence.
@amiablePeace77 I love your analogy of motivation acting as an internal engine. It certainly can kick in at any time whether we are conscious of it or not. In a way, it's like an instinct! Thank you for your response!
@lovelyWhisper66
Its important to me bacuse it gives me the push to better myself and to learn
@Reececup1986 Hi Reece, nice to see you here! Yes, motivation really does push us to do our best. It can definitely lead us to new experiences to learn from. Thank you so much for sharing!

@lovelyWhisper66 it's important cause gets u to get up and do anything and not letting what ever holding you back to win. And doing something is way to help show that there's way. Show us that we can do it.
@Ugarte1989 Well said! I totally agree that motivation can help us reveal our true and full potential. It can push us to do our very best. :) Thanks for sharing!
@lovelyWhisper66 Heya lovely! Just like what you said by being motivated, it helps us to get through the day. It also helps us to see the positive in everything and find some encouragement to be able to overcome struggles. 💜
@Erato Hey there Erato, it's wonderful to see you here; it's been quite some time! Indeed, motivation truly can allow us to be optimistic; it can give us the strength to overcome obstacles. Thank you for sharing!
