Using Music For Mental Health (and FUN!)

I probably haven’t poked around the site enough to find a thread about this. Who uses music on a targeted basis? I began doing this after I got serious about my studies. So no more binging on sad 90s grunge, angry punk, or even bouncy KPop, unless I’m trying to induce the mental states I know, say, too much Pearl Jam, L-7, or Blackpink will bring. But if I wanna have energy to clean the studio or get some attitude for something, well then the latest Tom A. Smith album is just the thing! For concentration, some cello sonatas or the beatbox sutras of Yogetsu Akasawa.
What about you? What do you use? Thoughts on this as a tool?

Hiya @teaneutral this is actually quite interesting and I feel many can relate too.
Music is indeed such a great tool which helps us feeeeeellll, feeel better, at times make us understand how exactly we are feeling plus has all the power to switch moods or complement a mood we are in.
Love how there’s different kinds of it, and each song lyric or tune speaks differently to us at different times in our life!
I alternate between listening to sad songs while feeling sad about something to feel even more sad xD anddd listening to peppy, upbeat tracks to lighten the mood or just dance the feelings away too hehe! Depends really! XD
