Sleeping paralysis

This is not exactly OCD related but I didn't know which category it should be under. I've been having sleeping paralysis often lately and I know exactly the cause. My brain is always running wild when I try to go to sleep and when I force myself to sleep, my body will go into sleep mode and my brain will still be awake so it will try to fill in for the reality. And the experience is usually so uncanny and scary. I just woke up from one right now and scared so bad I didn't know what to do.

Any one else experiencing sleeping paralysis?

@Mango33

Ive never experienced sleep paralysis. It sounds scary. But I have experienced a mind so busy or stressed that it affects my sleep. In my case it's generally feelings that haven't been heard during the day, using the quiet of night to demand attention.

I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight. But if not, there's always someone here to talk to. It's got me through many a night.

I've never experienced sleep paralysis in the way you've described, so I can't really speak to it from experience, but I've had migraine with aura for about 40 years and it occasionally (if I don't get to my meds in time) will cause a paralysis sensation of sorts in which I feel as if my limbs are stiff and I can't move. I can cognitively "tell" the limb to move, but without response. It causes a panic and fight mode and the more I fight, the worse it gets. It will finally pass but it's embarrassing-I used to work retail and customers wondered, I am sure! I am sorry you are experiencing this truly frightening manifestation of (nerve, circulation, muscle?) whatever is causing it. Blessings!

Wow, I've experienced something similar to what you've described, limb stiffening. I'm not sure if it's the same cause but I struggled with it too for quite some time. Thankyou for sharing
