@Kate Yes Kate! OCD is a reallly complex disorder with many different variations- some are to do with cleanliness (like contamination) but some can be pure-O, or more ritualistic. Thanks for sharing!

That even though 'the world won't fall apart if you...' we can't just turn it off. Having OCD isn't a choice.

@StrivingSoul I think that's one thing people really don't understand- it's not a choice, we can't just turn it off! People can be really dismissive or thing we're weird when we're just doing what we need to do <3 Thank you for sharing!

That avoiding/overcoming compulsive behaviors is easier said than done and we can't just "get over it".

That I'm not entitled or selfish for compulsively needing something to be a certain way, that I don't approve of my intrusive thoughts, and I can't simply just stop my compulsions. Mostly the first one though.

@EarlyOwl I totally agree! People can see us as time wasters and as being selfish just for taking time to do what we need to do to stay safe <3 Thanks for sharing!

It doesn't mean being a neat freak or that I care more about myself than other people or that I care about myself at all

@AdenOf2552 The neat freak comment is one we must hear every day! People saying 'I'm SO OCD' because they like organisation, when it's so much more than that! Thanks for sharing <3

Is that I really wish I could take a break from the exhaustion of my compulsion, and that it's not something I "choose" to do. If I could stop it all the time, I would.
