It's more than just being anal. It's more than just being a perfectionist. It's more than just about cleanliness and organisation and making sure that everything's in order.

There's also violent thoughts. There's also doubt. There's also thoughts that make you question your identity and your morality.

It's so much broader than what the media likes to show.

It's not always being neat freak or a perfectionist. OCD can exist in other ways too.

It can physically hurt if you act on compulsions a lot

@wittySpruce8187 Great answer! Some compulsions, as well as BFRBs (a related family of disorders that this forum also helps!) can involve inflicting damage onto us, and people around us should be aware that we may be in pain, but it's not purposeful! Thanks for sharing <3
