Possible OCD?
Lately I’ve noticed a compulsive behavior(?) of me repeatedly checking if my online friends are online. Before it was just one person but now I check repeatedly to see if they’re online.
This started back in July when a now ex-friend started something and I guess now I just keep checking to see if they’re online but in that one space I’m not in.
im aware this isn’t a healthy behavior but I don’t know how to get around it. I’ve tried distractions and hobbies but they only seem to work temporarily before I get the urge to check again.

maybe you should take a break from the screen and go outdoors or hiking, ik u said distractions don't work but if u went somewhere its actually impossible to check ur phone maybe u it can break the habit. Have u talked to ur friends or family bout this?
@persistentWatermelon5322 It sounds really frustrating to feel stuck in that cycle. One thing that can help is noticing the urge without immediately acting on it—almost like labeling it: “I’m noticing the urge to check, but I don’t have to act on it right now.” You could also try setting small limits for yourself, like only checking at specific times, and gradually increasing the gap. It’s about creating space between the impulse and the action. Little steps can make a difference over time.
