Should I teach my 3 years old son to fight back?
my heart is breaking everytime I saw kids hitting my son when theyre playing and my son just ignore it. He dont fight back. If it hurts he will just cry but if not he will just continue playing with the kid. Hes very innocent and sweet. i only taught him love. He dont know violence.
@kassidyonline I know that must break your heart but at 3, he's just a baby in my eyes. Teaching a kid that young to "fight back" can confuse them. Violence starts at a young age. They won't be able to decipher when it is ok to fight back in one situation versus another. His heart is pure and that's beautiful. Kids are so beautiful and we can learn a lot. Notice how when someone wrongs them they still accept them with arms wide open? Notice how quock they are to forgive? That's what we need to learn. At the end of the day, no one should be putting hands on your kid and it is your job to protect your child. Sometimes children act and do what it being done to them so always keep that in mind. Take care.

@kassidyonline At three, I think an adult either you or a teacher should be intervening and preventing the kids from hitting him and working with those kids to address their behavior. You could work with him on setting boundaries like saying "I don't like that. Don't hit me." I don't think you should tell him to hit the other kids in return just because he is a boy. And please validate that it is okay for him to cry but he can also learn to communicate boundaries.
You are a great mom who thought your son love and you should be proud. He doesn't have to be violent. But you can tell him to respond in a kind yet strong way like "it's hurting me when you hit, but you can always tell me if you have a problem". Toddlers especially don't have a lot of emotional regulation at this age, so you can also tell these kids that it's not okay to hit in a kind way.
Sweet soul, I'm sorry for that.
First of all, parents of those kids should be doing something about their behavior.
Your role possibly should be in talking to those parents
I hope your situation will be solved very soon. 🤗
