I have been diagnosed with a lot of personality disorders but the two that take a big part in my life are Antisocial Personality Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder. I don't know how to manage them or what to do when other factors interact with them.

@mousie2001

Hey Welcome! I see you just joined. Good for you for jumping in. I am pretty new here too. Everyone has been so kind.

Learning how to deal.with personality disorders can seem overwhelming because they weave all through our lives. I have bpd.

Everyone is different in what works for them, for me it is Dialetical Behavior Training. It was created for suicidal and bpd people originally. The creator was in a institution as a teenager. Suicidal and depressed. If you want to k ow anymore I or someone else would be happy to say more.

I believe some of the listeners are comfortable with bpd.

There are lots ways to join in here.

Best of luck to you

@mousie2001 hello again! I just read the.post below this one and they are talking about listeners who are comfortable with bpd. There is a listener volunteering. @QuiteMagic. I have been talking with them since I got here and super accepting, knowlegable, and really gets what your trying to express.

Hi, welcome to 7 Cups. 💜

Just passing along some links to start with that may or may not be relevant:

Resources for BPD

List of verified (experienced/community-vetted) 7 Cups listeners who accept 1-on-1 chats on personality disorders and have lived experience
https://www.7cups.com/BrowseListeners/?badge=0&find=&sort=&category=168&ageGroup=&listType=listener&gender=&religion=&country=&language=&verifiedlistener=on&livedExperience=on

My general impression is that there's a lot of information and support out there related to BPD, and there's a bit less for most of the other personality disorders. (If you explore the forum, you'll find some posts by other people with diagnosed or suspected ASPD discussing their experiences and things that have/haven't been helpful for them.)

It sounds pretty confusing with there being so many diagnoses and experiences intersecting/interacting. What would you say are one or two of the most difficult things you experience or things that are just tough to deal with on a day-to-day basis?

@SkillfulMeans Thanks for the tag (and the warm words)!

You are brave and courageous for speaking up about this difficult moment for you <3

@mousie2001 I understand what you’re going through. I’m here if you want to talk or connect - I think we have a lot in common and it’s hard to find people who are similar.
