Open to Friendship and Understanding 💙
I’m reaching out to connect with people who have BPD or those who value meaningful conversations about mental health. Life can feel like a rollercoaster sometimes, and having people to share the ride with makes all the difference.
If you’re looking for a friend who understands, feel free to reach out. Let’s share kindness, support, and maybe even a laugh or two along the way. 🌟

Tagging some other people who have posted recently about BPD, with many of those posts seeming like they were looking for the same thing (i.e. just being able to connect with other people who have BPD).

Sometimes I wish that 7 Cups had a 24/7 group chatroom for the Personality Disorders community. This situation happens every few months where there'll be a surge of activity with people wanting to make connections but it's like the site infrastructure doesn't provide what people need to be able to satisfy that. Current situation:
- There are 24/7 group chatrooms on Cups, but they are more generic.
- There is a group chatroom for the Personality Disorders community, but it only opens periodically for what I understand are mostly informational discussion sessions presenting/teaching a topic.
- People on member accounts also aren't able to 1-on-1 message one another directly. (Though the PenPals forum does exist.)
- And site rules prohibit trying to connect with people outside of the site.
- There are possibly thriving communities like that on Reddit or Disc.ord, but I imagine that I'm supposed to encourage people to stay on the site rather than directing them elsewhere and saying "you might have a better experience outside of 7 Cups"
I wonder if maybe it would be helpful to try to just create some kind of giant, dedicated thread in the forum space that would act as a pseudo-chatroom where people can gather and connect with one another. Was bouncing some ideas around a few months ago but gave up on it because it felt like a lot of work... and by the time I figured it out, all of the activity had quieted down so it was moot. Open to exploring something like that (or any other ideas people might have) if there's interest.
@QuietMagic @plumKiwi4299
Thank you for pinning me in the post! As QuietMagic says, I am looking for friends too and I suspect I have bpd and have a desire to connect with those with the disorder too!
Feel free to reply if you want to message me back and become friends whenever you can, I will also reply whenever I can.
The choice is yours though :))

Hi 🤗
I'm not really sure if i have bpd. But many ask about it so and when I've googled its like officially you're diagnosed with bpd.. I know it's dump to ask but how could i really understand if my problem is with personality disorder? Can it be adhd or general anxiety and depression? The symptoms are alike mostly
@tidylittle
Hey, not a dumb question!
The stock answer to "how can I know whether I have BPD" is "only a licensed mental health professional can diagnose anything".
But I'd like to be more helpful if I can. 😊 So will add some other things to that:
1) The following page has some info on differential diagnosis (i.e. how to distinguish BPD vs. other mental health conditions):
https://www.merckmanuals.com/professional/psychiatric-disorders/personality-disorders/borderline-personality-disorder-bpd#Diagnosis_v25246812
2) If you read about BPD and some of the experiences described resonate, then regardless of whether you do or don't have diagnosable BPD, resources/tips that are designed for people with BPD (e.g. managing emotions, mindfulness, healthy communication) might still be helpful either way!
hey ik this was posted a while ago but i have bpd, wanna be friends?
