 How are you feeling today?

kinda sad and angry right now as we have nothing to do on 4th of july no where to go angry due to we find we not believed a lot about all the abuse we went  through some people think we just say we can relate to things they say but truth is we can due to all the abuse we suffered over many years

but happy we free from the abuse that we had daily for 47yrs  thinking back we should have left our now ex hubby sooner maybe we could have not lost our kids if we left him sooner but fear was why we stayed in the marriage  as he threatened  us and to do things to them kids we feared he hurt the kids more then he already was doing so we felt stuck too disappointed  we did not have no where to run too as family was not safe either

What is something you're grateful for?

we grateful we free from daily abuse also that we still walking as was told we be in a wheelchair within  like 8yrs when we was 32yr old we still not also from being able to breath better due to about 4 weeks ago we started a bio shot for our asthma

we also grateful for 7cups as it a big help to us due to we  home alone most the time and spend a lot of time in bed due to out physical  health it nice to be able to come to 7 cups to talk to others support others and get support too

@stormieandpaws

Hi--yeah, sounds like a lot of feelings floating around (i.e. wishing that you had people to spend the holiday with, anger that people don't believe/understand the experiences that you've had, regret that you weren't able to leave your ex sooner and maybe have things go differently with your kids). Though as you said, it sounds like there were legitimate fears at the time and staying felt like the best way to protect yourself and your kids.

I'm glad that you've been able to have some quality of life after all that's happened (i.e. no longer being in daily abuse, being able to walk, being able to chat with people on here--another thing I'd add to that is the friends you have through the church group that you've mentioned in the past).

@QuietMagic

thanks for hearing us. we had many not believe us about the abuse but more medical things done more we know it truth too we have a hard time with new xrays as many have showed untreated injures  in past. but also this prove the abuse really happened we even been told by some doctors that it amazing we did not get infections in many of the untreated things they see in our body today

we really  have a hard time over what happened with our kids think that hardest thing we have to deal with even now we miss them but know that they and us could have been killed by our now ex he was very unstable and would not get help  we no longer have connected with him or his family that part of us being safe now but the cost to becoming safe was great too

we do have some connections with a few in our small group  we apart of but only when it running and only at the group  seem like we not really apart of anyone life offline

7cups give us a place to connected with others who deal with many of the things we deal with daily too

@QuietMagic

 hello

how am I feeling? idk, it lends itself towards the not good though . It’s complex. Spending time in thoughts and allowing them to Rome, ignoring any emotions elicited because thoughts are what works things out and solves things.. bet that sounds truly crazy.

grateful for? There are some things that I am grateful for but don’t want to go into specifics. What I can share is I am grateful I am able to feel and recognise warranted grateful feelings even if for not much.

@LabeledBPD

Hi, I can relate a lot to what you said about focusing on thoughts and problem-solving. 😊 Sometimes I have an instinct that something is stirring or ripe to be discovered, and if I just allow things to wander freely, then I'm likely to stumble into something helpful. And the discomfort feels like it's secondary to the process of exploration. Hope you're able to find what you're seeking there.

Yes, being able to have some experience of appreciation when things go well (even if things don't go well often) feels worthy of gratitude.
