@QuietMagic

I'm actually doing well! It's been a slightly stressful day, some negative interaction that didn't feel all that great, but I get to see a friend who I haven't seen in a while soon, which I'm looking forward to.

One thing that I've found calming recently is taking a step outside, or leaving my window open, as it's raining a lot recently, and the sound of rain is something I associate with being relaxed.

@ahhhhelpimalive

I'm glad things are going well. 😊 Sorry that things have been stressful but I hope your visit with your friend was enjoyable. 💜

That sounds really nice being able to open the window and have that calm, relaxed feeling if there's rain happening.

Hi, welcome to 7 Cups! Glad you've found the site and I hope that you're able to find what you're looking for here.

Sounds like it was helpful learning about BPD and having something to be able to tie everything together and feel like, "Oh so that's what's going on." Can understand what you're describing with splitting--like one moment you'll feel one way about someone and then later you might feel completely different about them, and it's confusing and disorienting. 💜

If you're looking for someone to talk with, HERE is a list of listeners who accept 1-on-1 chats on BPD. Also just going to share a resource I really like: this page lists some different experiences associated with BPD and has ideas for things to do with each one.

I’m full of thoughts today and doing all I can to not feel anything . I guess I would name this day my thought saturated sunday…. Unless it’s Saturday… that means tomorrow is going to be ‘stay out my way cause it’s now Moody Monday’. That will make me grateful to have pDBT tuesday to teach me how to make my moody Monday’s more mellow mondays … and maybe other days like Sundays will be calmer days like soul searching days. Serenity Saturdays I can’t even comprehend how that will feel. Is that happiness. Or inner peace? To feel like this without a body full of strong substances would be less costly, safer and best of all…. It would be real . I know it’s a dream. I’m too old to change and it could just cause the feelings to leak into the rest of

me. I won’t survive it. I’ve been 53 years in this mixed up confused state. I think it’s better for most of my malfunctions to remain that way.

I like "Moody Monday", haha. That would make a pretty fun icebreaker to try to come up with pessimistic versions of all of the weekdays.

Can definitely understand not wanting to feel things if you have some sense of, "If I ever manage to feel all the stuff that's there, it's going to be pretty miserable and who knows what will happen if of that stuff rushes in all at once." 💜

I've always felt like there's a lot of wisdom in "malfunctions". Sometimes they're like a glue that's barely holding everything together, they serve an important purpose of preventing a lot of suffering, and they deserve a great amount of respect and gratitude. Can understand as well the feeling though of, "It would be nice if there were something better than this and I were able to live without them."
