Poetry: where emotions meet expression ♡
Hey Everyone 💚,
I hope you're all doing well! I was wondering if anyone here is captivated by poems? Because I love how poets hide emotions into verses, leaving readers to ponder their thoughts and feelings. I'm passionate about reading and writing poetry. I'd love to share one of my own hope you enjoy it!
Shooting star,
I longed to flash like a shooting star,
But I landed as a candle,
I stood tall but fleeting,
I was a brief wonder to be.
I melt so swiftly and flicker wildly.
But once I, beheld a hand,
Covering me from my death,
As it blew furiously to erase my existence.
"Stars, they say, are denied the gift of
this repose”
Please share yours too I'd love to read your poems and discover the beautiful words of various writers!!

@LilSunflower22 Here is a poem I wrote titled
A Pond Called Solitude:
Before trusting salt to lift my body
to the surface of the sea,
and the hand of another to rescue me,
I must first teach myself to swim in fresh water.
I stand on this bridge overlooking a pond.
I stand in solitude,
with only my own hand
and a railing to hold.
Please, give me enough courage
to climb the rail,
to feel my feet release,
to dive off the side for a swim.
The water that peeks through is dark,
with small ripples like a blackberry
waiting to be picked off a bush,
illuminated by the late spring sun.
This water is home to so much life—
the frogs that kick their legs apart under the surface,
a cover of leafy green lily pads
creating a horizontal canopy.
Monet’s best paintings—
portraits,
capturing not people but scenes, whole worlds—
beauty that begs me to find my reflection.
The water awakens me as I feel it on my face,
treading to stay afloat so I can keep my eyes open
and see—I am part of this pond.
The only body that reminds me how beautiful I am.
@khg004 This poem spoke to my soul! The metaphor of learning to swim before trusting others to save you is so powerful, and that ending—the only body that reminds me how beautiful I am—is just breathtaking. Thank you for sharing this vulnerable and vivid piece.
Hello....@LilSunflower22
This is such a tender and luminous poem—melancholic yet full of quiet strength. I love the metaphor of the candle- brief but intentional, vulnerable yet radiant. And that line “Stars, they say, are denied the gift of this repose”—it lingers. Thank you for sharing your heart through these verses. Looking forward to reading more from you<3
@LilSunflower22 I loved this, it was awesome. Thank you so much for sharing this with us all, hope you keep posting more. 🤗

Fall whispers
Fall the time of year that come before the winter rest
when the leave begin to chance colors
the air become cooler and feel as if it whispering that winter coming
the harvest time farmer being in their crops
within fall it time for hayrides and apple cider
but this all brings to me a sign winter coming
when the land will rest and have over it a blanket of snow
