101 Feelin' & Dealin' - Healing is overrated #1

Hii everyone,

I'm Grace 🌙

And I'm here to remind you that:

"It's too boring to take life seriously.. We're literally dancing on some weird former floating fireball"

Routine and habits are definitely not my thing. The 101 diaries i started and never even reached the 4th page in is a small indication. BUT THIS TIME (never stated before..👀) I'm going to write out some random hopefully relevant topics I didn't know I was so passionate about until I wrote them down. I'll try doing this every week (or maybe month.. don't get your hopes up). The things I'm going to talk about are probably all over the place, cause it's my last 2 brain cells talking to each other.

I saw this quote on Pinterest last week which said: "What doesn't kll you, gives you a set of unhealthy coping mechanisms & a very dark sense of humor" which makes me want to say 'Healing is overrated'. Partly because I want to grab your attention by simply stating this black and white unpopular opinion, but mostly I want to make you think about the concept of healing. This is not me saying that there is no such thing as healing. However, on social media a lot of 'come on my heal journal with me' type of content is presented. Some are, either consciously or unconsciously, implying that there is such a thing as 'a healing journey' with as end goal 'being healed' and this can be a harmful concept. We need to understand the dynamics of hurting and healing. No one wants to remain hurt, but hurt comes as a given with life. This is not supposed to make you depressed, cause being hurt means you are feeling and feeling is good. Yes, scream and cry on the top of your lungs, let it all out, but after that you want to let it go. Hurting and feeling DOES have a purpose. If you listen to what you're feeling and what hurts, you can learn a lot about yourself. People who are hurting need someone who can listen and empathize, that's why 7 cups is a great place ("not sponsored"😗✌️) . However, you can not depend on other people when it comes to healing. What I mean is; when you go to someone to help you, don't expect them to have the perfect solution. Only YOU really know what you want and what makes you feel good. Of course, people can support you and teach you how to use healthy coping mechanisms, but after all you need to do the work, Feel the feels, heal the heals.

Simply put, in the end the goal isn't to 'heal'. The goal is to get to know yourself better and learn that you are more resilient than you know. This weird former floating fireball makes you grow, get tougher, figure out your boundaries and learn your own values.

Let me know by reacting if you're interested in my threads once a while, if you are tell me in which specific community I should post it.😊

Love,

Grace

I would love for you to join my 101 Feelin' and Dealin' with Grace journey and maybe we can do this together💛💛💛

@AliceWonder Which community? Well, for starters, this thread is a duplicate of this one, and duplicates are not allowed. Someone will come along and remove it.

I think the best community might be Healthy Living, or maybe Journals & Diaries. You could flag your other thread and ask for it to be moved.

By the way, I agree that the term healing is often used to mean an imaginary and unrealistic perfection.

@AliceWonder Ok, before someone comes along and removes it, I just want to say that was the most profound thing I have read in human English recently and thank you. We're all on this road together, struggling, and some of us can express it in more complete sentences, but you put it all together very nicely and I appreciate you starting my day this way!
