Hello 7 Cups Community,

As we come together to celebrate the remarkable 10th birthday of 7 Cups, let's create something truly special—a "Time Capsule of Kindness" to commemorate this milestone. We invite each and every one of you to contribute and be a part of this meaningful project.

What is the "Time Capsule of Kindness"? It's an opportunity for us to share our stories, moments of compassion, and acts of kindness that we have experienced within this incredible community. By capturing these heartfelt moments, we aim to showcase the impact of 7 Cups on our lives and inspire others with the power of empathy.

How can you participate? It's simple!

1. Share your story: Reflect on a meaningful interaction, a message of support, or a personal growth experience you've had on 7 Cups. Write a brief narrative, describing the impact it had on you and the kind words or actions that touched your heart.

2. In another 10 years, we will come back to this time capsule and reflect on how much we have learned and accomplished.

How to contribute? Simply reply to this forum post with your story, message of gratitude, or act of kindness. Feel free to be as creative as you'd like—use words, images, or even poetry to share your experiences. Let's fill this "Time Capsule of Kindness" with warmth, empathy, and positivity.

Remember, this is a collaborative effort that showcases the strength and compassion of our community. Together, let's make this Time Capsule a testament to the transformative power of kindness.

Thank you for being a part of 7 Cups and for making it the extraordinary community it is today. Let's celebrate this milestone together and continue spreading kindness in all that we do.

It was the time when life seemed to fail me in every field. Two of my best friends thought it was cool to just abandon me for some newer, 'cooler' friends and I was left behind. I recall failing horribly in tests and seeing my hair fall out miserably. I was pretty young, but, I was just done with life. Took me a long time to find a support community, until I stumbled on 7 Cups. I was in love with all of it! It just made me feel like I found that missing piece that could elevate, if not heal certain parts of my life.

Hardly been 2 months as a Listener here, but, I have already learned so much from fellow Listeners and even some Members. I am grateful to each and every person who unknowingly encouraged me to hope for a better life and made me happy. Thanks to 7 Cups, I have learnt so much about myself which I was previously oblivious towards. I learnt how to set boundaries, and how to say 'no'. I feel healthy when I think about my mental health and I realize I have stepped on my healing journey.

So, to my Future Self: I sincerely wish that I am in a better place 10 years from now, but, I would love to remind myself that this was the first ever step I took towards bettering myself.

Thank you so much, everybody! ❤️ Let's all grow and heal and mature together!

I had hit a point in my career where I decided to spare my body some pain and get out of manual labor and warehouse work. I didn't have many other skills since I had been doing manual labor for 17 years which made getting out of the business feel impossible. I am not one to give up so I kept searching for resources and found 7 Cups. I second what MagnificentCloud803 said about it being the missing piece because it was. It was like social media platform meets therapy, unlimited resources and positive encouragement. It made me think, why haven't we thought of this idea before?! It's genius. I have found my new home in social media. I have always enjoyed helping others and found that this platform and the listener training can give me the basic training to get into peer support roles and other crisis roles. I am so thankful for all of the members and listeners here. I plan to grow as a listener here and advance in any other available training. I also see myself still visiting this community in 10 years from now. Thank you everyone. We are all stronger together. 👊

i am brand-brand new as a Listener, but every day so far has been a vital step, a new lesson in remembering to kind and compassionate to myself, in order to pass on the same beautiful energy to others. ♥️

I think I'll always remember the first time a member thanked me. It was my first time as a listener and I remember being perhaps a bit more robotic than I wished to be but I do remember that as my chat went on, I started being myself more (while also still regarding the 7 cups principles). Though throughout the chat I wasn't too sure how the member was feeling about our conversation, I remember a wave of relief and a bit of pride washing over me when they thanked me for helping them think through their situation. It has been a few months since I joined and I've chatted with many different members and I'm happy to say that being able to be there for people is it's own kind of reward! <3

@CheeryMang one of my carers set me up on this site about a year ago. I came here with very little communication skills, no confidence, and a very low point. But one person for me to open up to find my voice. Then I got to know lots more wonderful people. I made friends, and it made me very happy. I'm still learning about who I am. But this site has become my safe place, my happy place. And without the kindness of people without the 7 cups family, I fear I may of went down a really bad hole. So thank you 7 cups family ❤ thank you glen ❤

To my future self or to the future self of someone reading this now: Every time you didn't think you'd make it, you did. Don't underestimate how powerful and resilient you are in the moments you feel weak and tired. Our own strength isn't accurately accounted for by the moments we stand tall and feel capable, and things are going well for us. It's actually best witnessed when there is something, even small and faint, within us that keeps us moving forward when the heaviness and magnitude of the pain we carry has us desperately feeling ready to collapse. And when our suffering echoes through our mind so loudly and we feel there's no other option to give up. And if you're reading this now, whether 1 day from now or 10 years, you're still out here making it because you're more powerful and brave than you may realize, or let yourself believe. One day, if not now, I hope you believe it too.

Wow, I can't believe it will be 2033 when we open this time capsule again!! I hope I'm still around here on 7 Cups!

7 Cups was there for me during the very early stages of the pandemic. I was looking for ways to continue service work, but from home. It was scary at first, listening to our members' stories and knowing how to respond appropriately! I have learned so much about listening and reflective listening during my 3 years here. I have loved every minute of being a Listener and it has lead to some great moments, including the Care Team for me. I have met so many wonderful friends and I know that the things I have learned here will follow me for the rest of my life, including my career as a genetic counselor. I love how many people 7 Cups has helped and not just members. I think listening is a coping skill for me and allows me to share my experiences to help others in the meantime. Thank you 7 Cups and Happy 10 Years!! 💘

If I am still alive in 10 years that would be great! How did I recover from long covid? Did I recover from cancer? Did I ever get married? Did I ever get my independence and life back or did I end here at my parents where I came to recover? Do I go in the ocean one more time? Did I play music again on stage or reach my dream of playing salsa in South America? Did we leave planet Earth as a species? Invent warp drive yet? haha.... My future self is lucky to still be alive and living in this body that treated me very well for the first 53 years of life here until covid and enjoying the support here on this site.

It’s coming up to 3 years since I first looked into becoming a 7 Cups Listener. It was an opportunity I was looking to do somewhere but wasn’t quite sure how to go about it. Only by accident when I stumbled across the 7 Cups community and couldn’t wait to get started. I knew within days I’d chosen the right volunteering role and I loved it!

I’ve now chatted with hundreds of members (a few who I still chat with today). There were some topics I had first hand experience of….and other topics I didn’t….but I’ve slowly worked through the training and learnt so much. I’ll never forget the first ‘thanks’ I received from a member I’d chatted with. Their words of appreciation ran through me and I felt so proud! I’ve still got more to learn to enable me to feel more familiar with the site but I love being ‘work in progress’ and I welcome the challenges it brings. I think it’s wonderful how many people 7 Cups has helped and continues to help.

🌹 Thank you everyone 🌹 Thank you 7 Cups 🌹 Wishing you a Happy 10 Years 🌹
