Are there any more events your sc/ you are planning to work on this May? Please do let us know so we are aware of it and can help out if you need help with it. <3
Also, for mental Health Awareness Month, we would really appreciate if every sc could get involved and do something (It doesnt have to be anything big, just a forum post or discussion or feed posts works too.)
@Fluffyunicorns84 @Windflowers @Tazzie @Jill7cups
Sc CML/CTSLs: @DanaMH @Soulsings @InternalAcceptance @Emmur @PalmTreesNrainbows @emsworld @Raspberrycheesecake @Isentropic @Politeocean @Power @BrooklynM @RumpleSteeleskin @RideaRainbow @ASilentobserver @Averylove @Heather225 @moana22 @Mel @imogene @Kate
@River may is share a story month, maybe we could like to a big thread where people can share their stories here on 7cups (their mental health journey, or listener journey or whatever)
and its also national teen self esteem month! maybe @Moana22 would like to do something?
@AveryLove
We have a week dedicated on talking about mental health and stigma on Mental Health Awareness Month. So I was thinking we can try to incorporate it in there? Thoughts on it? <3
@River sounds good!
Trauma would love to be on board with the Mental Health awareness we could do something im sure @River and possibly a Self Esteem collab @Moana22
Also its National Trauma Awareness Month in May
so from May 1st to 15th since the 15th is Trauma Awareness / Trauma Survivors Day (Wednesday, May 15th)
So could you possibly add that Awareness to list of events @River
Also Disability Awareness Days are as Follows @River
15 May - International Day of Families (Observed by the United Nations, International)
May 16 - hae day :-) (International)
May 21 - Global Accessibility Awareness Day (US)
@CaringBrit
Events for International Day of families is being worked on by @Isentropic (So you can contact them about it! ) Also, we can maybe try to incorporate hae day & Global Accessibility Awareness Day into Mental Health Awareness Month if no events is already being planned for it. Thoughts on it?
@River feed posts a forum discussion or group support but certainly incorporate them in ill be doing a group discussion for the accesibility one and forum based feed posts for any others but passed it onto team
@River I would say there are more vital aspects to hae and accessbility awareness than the mental health aspects alone.
@AffyAvo I realise that! I am sorry if it sounded otherwise D: We are open to doing a daily event about it if Disability Support Subcommunity is okay with taking initiative and leading it. <3
@AffyAvo @River @CaringBrit
I agree with Affy, Although I am not very familiar with HAE I am familiar with the difficulties with accessibility and how bringing awareness to both of this individual topics is very important, separately to Mental Health Month. If I can help organise or lead a discussion, or write them then I would be happy to try and figure out a way to get them held. Is @CaringBrit due back soon ? PM me to chat more maybe?
Listening .... One Step At A Time

May is also National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month: what about maybe doing a post in TOZ (@Mel? maybe as collab with pregnancy & parenting?) or sexual health forum (@Anomalia?) about it, facts and how to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.
also its National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. Maybe @Politeocean, is this something you are interested in for healthy living community?
also its Childrens Mental Health Awareness Week. maybe doing a post in Parenting & pregnancy community on how to support your child with mental health issues? @Jill7cups?
of course, all of this is voluntary and i do not want to pressure anyone to join! But if you have any questions and would like to join, but need support, thats what i am here for.
I am also willing to brainstorm with any forum community or subcommunity ideas for these awareness projects if they are interested
@AveryLove we shoud definitely have something in parenting for mother's day, and would be happy to help with any others!
I would love to collaborate with other sub-communities
