Just curious for all those book lovers out there, what's your favourite book genres to read?

I love books (you may be able to tell by my username, lol). I read all sorts of things. The genres I'm not into are sometimes historical (depends on how dry it is) and I can't do horror books - I also can't do horror movies as I'm a wimp with scary things, but oddly enough love true crime (make it make sense! lol).
My favorite books are some of the few I can re-read, which are A Tree Grows In Brooklyn, Memoirs of a Geisha, To Kill A Mocking Bird and One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest.
What I read largely depends on my mood.

I read both A Tree Grows and Memoirs Freshman year of highschool. A Tree Grows just speaks to me, I know that sounds corny. Memoirs was an accidental read. We had testing and I finished my book after I was done and so a friend gave me Memoirs and the book is just so great. Did you say your favorites?
Hmm... favorite book might be The Brother's Karamazov by Dostoevsky because of how it personally affected me and my faith journey going through school. In addition to being just a great classic.
But as for a recent one I recommend I just finished Our Lady of the Artilects by Andrew Gillsmith. The premise is that in the far distant future there are androids claiming to see an apparition that looks like the Virgin Mary, and one android is claiming to be possessed by a demon. It's an interesting thought experiment on the nature of consciousness and the soul. Even if you are not religious I still recommend it.

I like reading mostly Fantasy and Sci-Fi.
It's pretty hard to choose favorites but let's see... Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Seventh Tower... there are so many... hehehe

Right now, the book I’m reading is “Journey to the Center of the Earth”. It’s a really good fictional science book that’s about a group of kids wanting to know the secrets of life and humanity itself 😄

@sirenAngel Generally fantasy or detective books. My absolute favourite is Agatha Christie's "And then there were none"!Really gives out a great kinda creepy vibe
I love horror and thriller, but recently I've been getting into romance i really liked the “love hypothesis” it was good

I have the love hypothesis in my tbr list - I've heard from so many people that it was good. I subscribe to book of the month and I think they offered it as one of their choices.
I do really like romanace as a 'brain cleanser' so to speak. I always read romance after I read a serious or sad book as they tend to be fun, light, easy reads for me.
Have you read anything by Tessa Bailey? I like her romance a lot but it's a 'spicy' romance (includes some adult content) and I know not everyone like that.

My favorite book genres lately have been technical,
like on:
gamification
microlearning
exercise psychology
habit building
growth mindset
healthy living topics
For comedy-drama genre,
my very favorite author is
Tom Robbins (I've read all these):
- Another Roadside Attraction (1971)
- Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (1976)
- Still Life with Woodpecker (1980)
- Jitterbug Perfume (1984)
- Skinny Legs and All (1990)
- Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas (1994)
- Villa Incognito (2003)
Overall I'd say my very favorite book is:
The Hobbit
I really liked Lord of The Rings too.
However, The Hobbit vert lighthearted,
so it is my favorite.

I'll have to check out those you listed under comedy/drama. Have you read This Is Where I Leave Yoo (it was also a movie but I'm not sure I've seen the movie) I found it hilarious at times. I also like Jenny Lawson's books - she's a blogger who is funny but also talks about her struggles with mental health. Furiously Happy is about her mental health but Let's Pretend This Never Happened is about her childhood and it was often crazy in a really funny way.

I searched my public library Hoopla and they have the audio book. Yay!
And my public library Libby has the e-book. Yay!
Unfortunately I can't access the movie via my library.
My public library Kanopy doesn't have the movie either.
I'd like to see the move because it has a great cast, including Adam Driver.
I usually enjoy movies he is in!

Right now, I only use free services for movies like my public library's Hoopla and Kanopy.
Or I use free websites like Tubitv.com,
which I really really enjoy for all kinds of movies
and also for music concerts and music documentaries
and especially for sci-fi movies and foreign movies.
Usually I search Google for a movie, then I look on the right side and it shows all popular viewing options, including free viewing.

I also like watching some kids movies on tubi.
They can have amazing animation.
Recently I watched
The Stolen Princess and
The Monkey King Reborn
and I really liked the animation.

Mostly History and 19th century Horror. Currently reading a biography of John Glenn.
@calmTortoise3132 John Glenn lived in my hometown, ad he's from my State! Who is the biography by - if you think it's good i'll have to check it out. I love a good biography!
