Empathy
I am empathetic because I know what it is like to check yourself in every mirror you come across
I am empathetic because I know the worry of being heard as you pace back and forth in the dark
I am empathetic because I know how hard it is to ignore everyone’s food
I am empathetic because I know the sting of stomach acid always tastes better than the food
I am empathetic because I know the moment of panic when someone hears you, and you need a way to get out of this
I am empathetic because I know the best way to get bloodstains out of clothes
I am empathetic because I know how everything has an edge
I am empathetic because I know how to lie a mark away
I am empathetic because I know the panic of someone finding out
I am empathetic because I know what won’t work
I am empathetic because I know how bad it gets
I am empathetic because I know how a plan can bring comfort
I am empathetic because I know how it feels to write a note
I am empathetic because I know the pain
I am empathetic because I know what it is like to be so lost
I am empathetic because I have no choice
I am empathetic because I have nothing left

Oh don't do that! I'm in a public space now on the verge of tears.
I'm also empathetic. I know what it's like to lose all hope, to feel like there is no meaning. To feel like your very existence is a cosmic betrayal. That you fail yourself and everyone every day.
I know what it's like to crawl through the mud against your will, to feel there is no choice.
I believe free will is an emergent quality of consciousness. With self-awareness, we have the power to make decisions. Think of the future and decide it.
My task paralysis is due to feeling overwhelmed with choice. I'm pulled between everything, and the only way to make myself act is to reflect on my wants and needs. Sometimes I need others to help me.
I don't believe you have nothing, for you have at least my endless faith in you. You're expressing yourself... you touched my heart today, you have the power to make a difference. You made quite the difference in me!
