Trigger Warning - Depression / hopelessness / political

----------------------------------------------------

The Tower

Walk the perfect path set out for us
Demon’s gaze, filled with endless lust
The eternal money tree must be watered
Use the blood of the forgotten slaughtered

Crush the skulls of those who collapsed
Grind them up, use every bit to the last
Make a special paste, useful for mending.
“Move faster, feel better!”. Oh, what a blessing.

Sitting on a couch, resting on graves
Lifted by people we dare not call slaves
Don’t ever look down, look straight ahead
There is nothing you can do, so be happy instead.

Work on your future, Work to the brittle bone
Work until you learn that we will all die alone
“You’ll make it if you keep at it” Says your master
“However your work isn’t enough, so work faster!”

Take a long moments breath, and open your eyes
Look at your bloody hands; and at the demon’s skies
A tower of not-slavery, with an unseen hidden king
Supporting or Supported, all follow the same ring.

Even as the horrors are laid out in full display
Even as the truth is screamed every single day
We still lay in our couch, resting on endless graves
Dare not to rock the tower, for we fear the repave

Wow Black Rose, this is amazing. The moral/theme is easy to follow without betraying the gorgeous phrases of the poem. Thank you so much for sharing 💜
