What was the first ever book you read like legit read-read yourself? If you remember?😮

@Optimisticempath

I think it's Oliver Twist. I was very young, and I really liked the story for some reason. It was a very old book in our school library and I felt like I had found a hidden treasure :p

The first book i remember reading was The lion,the witch and the wardrobe! But the first series that actually got me hooked was the hunger games. I can't put down dystopian/fantasy books now

My story: A child called it, the lost boy, a man named Dave. Written by Dave Pelzer. My mum had read the book and then gave it to me to read. I remember having to sit with a dictionary as I read it so I could understand the adult words that were being used. I must have been around 7 or 8 as I was an advanced reader. It’s the first book I vividly remember reading. I learnt a lot of new words and learnt a lot about the world. it was an experience.

Having had that experience myself, I couldn’t imagine giving that book to my children to read. My daughter is now 8, still believes in the tooth fairy, thinks hogwarts is real and thinks her nose turns green when she lies. I will not be crushing her world like that.

The books that made me fall in love with reading are the Harry Potter series, the Percy Jackson series’ and Black butler (manga). These all inspired me to do creative writing and I still continue to do creative writing today.
