What was the first thing that you can remember writing for yourself?

And by for yourself, I mean not for any kinda school assignment or whatever.

For me, it was probably when I was really into Batman when I was young. I had had most of the action figures from the animated series, and I remember writing on a sheet of spiral notebook paper a one-page story for an episode of that show.

I do wish I had saved it as I can't remember any of the actual story. Moreover, it would be truly interesting to see what my 7-year old self had conjured up for an episode. 😅

So yeah, what do you all remember as your first ever piece of writing?

I’ve always been a writer. It’s in my blood. I would probably say my earliest writings were journal entries. When I was four I got a purple Spiderman journal from McDonalds (lol). I wrote a lot in it. I pretended to “spy” on my dad and brother, and wrote down what I saw. My handwriting was not good, to say the least. I also had other journals and notebooks books I would write in.

In elementary school was when my fiction writing started to kick in. I wrote a lot of fiction. My earliest writings of fiction were probably written sometime from Kindergarten to second grade. I don’t remember all the writings I made back then. But I do remember some. One was written about my stuffed animal cat coming alive and growing to the size of Godzilla (it was called Kittyzilla). It was so cringy.

Anyways, those are some of my earliest writings. I am still writing right now with nine years of experience so far. I’ve improved a lot :)

It's always been school or co op assignments for Me

The first thing i wrote personally for myself and just me was a story about a camel spy, at the start of covid.

It's been 2 years and I now write poetry and I'm writing a novel, I've always loved writing.

The first thing I ever wrote about was when I was six, I think. It was a story about a boy who would go to this special park that had time traveling swings. His best friend was a T-rex, it was a whole series I made up.
